Why Bush Went To Iraq and Why Troops Ate Dinner at 6am
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 10:23 AM by CreekDog
This was extremely well-orchestrated...

Hillary Clinton was scheduled to meet with the troops in both Afghanistan and Iraq. She was also to have dinner (at the normal time).

By coming to Iraq in the morning, Bush beat and then dominated all news coverage drowning her coverage out. Had they been there at the same time, this would not have happened.

Effectively, they timed Bush's visit to beat everybody else to the news that day. That he visited in the morning was both mistakenly reported (Wash. Post) or not really mentioned at all (most other news). Photos of his visit show sunlight coming in the windows of the building they were in.

Karl Rove has his fingerprints all over this.

1. This has already been proven false....
It was confused due to a typo in one of the papers (Washington Post?). He arrived in the PM over there.

Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 10:26 AM by CreekDog
what of the pictures showing daylight with Bush and the troops?

also, if you leave in the middle of the night here you can't arrive in early evening there, unless you can fly to Baghdad in a few hours from Texas.

i thot the wash. post showed arrival in the pm but that was the typo.

FAA stopped web page air pilot advisories, Wed. 02:56 AM....

Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 02:11 PM by amen1234

FAA stopped air pilot web advisories on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 02:56 AM and started their
web page advisories again at 11:48 AM. By using only phones, FAA prevented anyone from knowing
about the pResident's travels across America.....and if the shrub left USA airspace at about 11 AM,
11/26/03, Wednesday, then he would arrive about 5 AM in Baghdad on 11/27/03 Thankgiving day.

...to have gone over very well with anyone except the most fanatical rightwing NeoCon goose-steppers.

Junior stayed 2.5 hours and never left the Baghdad Airport compound. This is a real slap in the face to all of the troops he has placed in harm's way. He also failed to eat a single bite of food, and the pictures of the event look staged, as does the video. By not meeting with any Iraqis in Baghdad itself, he basically insulted the Iraqi people who have VERY structured concepts of hospitality.

Meanwhile, Hillary not only ate the same food as the troops, she also showed a fair amount of courage by walking around among the locals. She also spent DAYS, as opposed to hours, in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

7. It is not possible
to tell what time of day it is from the pictures. I have studied these images and what looked like windows are either soda machines or lights that were set up for the cameras. So far, I have not seen any first hand reports from someone who was there that addresses this issue either.

However, time of day is a minor issue compared to the rest of the fakery associated with this photo op.

First of all, they claim there were 600 troops at this event. I have not seen any pictures that confirm this. From what I have found my guess would be 100-300 at the most. Of those 100-300 people, how many of them were press and how many were secret service? Both were made to dress in army fatigues. So W made civilians dress to look like military personnel.(Isn't that a crime?) The only reason to do this would be to make better pictures for the photo op.

Second, in most of the pictures the same handful of people appear over and over again. Upon further study, it is apparent that these particular people are not soldiers, they are W's security. So W went all the way to Iraq and back to stage a photo op with the troops and most of the people in the pics aren't even real troops. Even the friggin turkey was probably fake.

So no matter what time of day it turns out to be, the whole event was a staged for Hollywood abuse of power by our chickenhawk commander in chief.

9. For the Brits who were upset about 14000 police there to protect
Dumbya while he visited, they should be comforted by the fact that at least that many US soldiers were probably moved to guard the Baghdad airport, without being told why.

Bush had 14000 security personnel in Britain. What's over in Iraq now, 100+ K?

16. Not to mention the troops almost rioting at the gates
because Bush's security detail wouldn't let them out of the airport before sunset, so they got to face the deathtraps in the dark.

"E-MAIL FROM A CAPTAIN IN IRAQ

Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 10:06 AM

*************************

We knew there was a dinner planned with ambassador Bremer and LTG Sanchez.

There were 600 seats available and all the units in the division were tasked with filling a few tables. Naturally, the 501st MI battalion got our table. Soldiers were grumbling about having to sit through another dog-and-pony show, so we had to pick soldiers to attend. I chose not to go.

But, about 1500 the G2, LTC xxxxx, came up to me and with a smile, asked me to come to dinner with him, to meet him in his office at 1600 and bring a camera. I didn't really care about getting a picture with Sanchez or Bremer, but when the division's senior intelligence officer asks you to go, you go.

We were seated in the chow hall, fully decorated for thanksgiving when aaaaallllll kinds of secret service guys showed up. That was my first clue, because Bremer's been here before and his personal security detachment is not that big. Then BG Dempsey got up to speak, and he welcomed ambassador Bremer and LTG Sanchez. Bremer thanked us all and pulled out a piece of paper as if to give a speech. He mentioned that the President had given him this thanksgiving speech to give to the troops. He then paused and said that the senior man present should be the one to give it. He then looked at Sanchez, who just smiled. Bremer then said that we should probably get someone more senior to read the speech. Then, from behind the camouflage netting, the President of the United States came around. "

So what's the deal with him touching down in the middle of the night? Doesn't sound right to me.

21. Let it go
No matter how long we bitch and moan about it, it was good PR for the president, a smart move and I hate to say it but a gutsy one. The troops there didn't care one shit if they had to wait until the am to eat dinner or whatever, if the president visits you in a battle zone (even if it's he wishes would go away) it's going to boost morale. We should really let this pass and quit making it news.

22. There have been so many DU threads on this. It was 5:30PM.
That has been extremely well established to all but the most die-hard of the tinfoil hatters.

It was at 5:30 PM. If you will review all the other threads on this you will find all the evidence that you need from several different people that have worked out the times, from witnesses, etc.

Let it go. You are grasping at a hope based on a typo that the reporter has already said was a typo. And you are making the rest of us look silly.
