Even Anderson COOPER Beats Tweety's Hardball Ratings
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 12:27 PM by UTUSN
But unfortunately, Tweety appears to be a hit with his NETWORK show.

.... "Anderson Cooper 360" has averaged 474,000 viewers in recent weeks. That's down 28 percent from CNN programming a year ago and well behind the 1.3 million viewers for Fox News's Shepard Smith, though ahead of MSNBC's Chris Matthews. But CNN executives point to a 15 percent rise in the coveted 18-to-49 age group. ....

.... While "Hardball" ratings are scraping the cellar on MSNBC, "The Chris Matthews Show" is drawing 2.1 million viewers, beating "Fox News Sunday" nationally and even edging out CBS's "Face the Nation" and ABC's "This Week" in Washington and New York. ....

Matthews, a onetime aide to Jimmy Carter and Tip O'Neill, isn't sure why "Hardball" ratings -- the program is averaging 379,000 viewers -- are down by about two-thirds from their late-1990s peak. He floats one theory: A heavily conservative cable audience, which liked his Clinton-bashing during impeachment, has been turned off by his opposition to the Iraq war. ....

Most administration officials avoid "Hardball," and some are fuming over his recent remarks at Brown University, for example, that Vice President Cheney "is running the place" and "put his thumb on the scale" to force conservative decisions. ....

"You walk down Fifth Avenue, people come up and say they love me."
Matthews may soon be inescapable. He is on Washington bus placards, is spoofed as "Chris Cashew" in Jerry's Subs commercials and -- d'oh! -- will play himself on "The Simpsons." ....

1. Yeah, that's the ticket!
His ratings are down because he's such a pinko commie liberal. :eyes:

His ratings are down because people are tired of watching a blonde bulldog bark and drool all over the furniture.

2. Plus MSRNC Has Been Running Ads on Faux
I was monitoring O'REILLY or something and it was like space-out-time seeing a commercial for Tweety. I thought I had switched to MSRNC. No, Tweety is being peddled on Faux. What does THAT say? Could it be that MSRNC *wants* Faux-sters, that they are acknowledging that Faux viewers are, indeed, a natural constituency for Tweety-----and DESIRABLE? Surprise, surprise.

4. His ratings were good when he had Clinton
to bash around all the time - now he has to pick and choose and get in a shot at them whenever he can - I think tonight's show is going to be Hillary bashing.

5. And He *Does* Do Michael JACKSON Segments
Somebody a few days ago said they tolerate him because at least he didn't *do* MJ shows. He DOES, yesterday and another day. What he DOESN'T do are Enron shows or segments. Hmmmm: Those walking-acting-quacking duck facts keep mounting up.
