Interesting information regarding election 2004.
I went to a Dean meetup tonight and somebody was telling me that Cheney will not be on the Bush '04 ticket. I even heard that Colorado Governer B.O. is on a short list for Vice-Presidential candidate for that ticket.

The other rumor is that Jeb Bush is looking to seek the '08 presidential nomination, and that his son George P. Bush will seek the presidency in 2016

1. The first one sounds solid
I buy that Cheney could be dropped. Don't see many Cheney fans. The man looks evil. Arnold, though? It's possible. And wouldn't that buy the idiot vote.

The second I don't even want to contemplate.

2. Arnold is not eligible.

3. Ridge is a logical choice.

He is tough looking, and runs homeland security.

They'd hafta conservative-up his previous stance on abortion, but it is possible.

5. Not a chance.
I doubt if Rove wants even a ceremonial job like VP. He wields much more power being the kingmaker than he would being the king's successor.

6. I think Cheney will run
Edited on Thu Dec-04-03 01:09 AM by frisco
He may not finish out the term and it does make some sense that the 2008 frontrunner would be elevated to VP. Owens is going through a divorce (I read somewhere) so that would make him a bit messy right now.

I could see Jeb running in '08 but that's pretty risky given the obvious Bush fatigue that will prevail. George P needs to run for something else first and 2016? Way too far ahead for this brain.

8. The only way Uncle Dick is off the ticket is if the Big'un sends him down
to his eternally warm "undisclosed location"

As for the future candidacy of Jebbie and Georgie III, if even Republicans are so mind numbingly fucking stupid to pick another member of the first family of fascism after 2 Bush administrations marked by economic disasters and pointless wars for profit, then it's indeed time for Texas to secede from the Union, and anyone supporting the BCE can move there with them.

12. Halliburton owes him one...or two
I'm sure they'll receive him with open arms.

How's his health these days, anyway?

Jeb Bush for President? No way. And George P Bush? No! no! no! There has to be a law somewhere about three Presidents with the same first and last names. Middle initials just don't cut it.
