Did anyone notice all of the OIL Op-Eds in the New York Times today?
I thought this was purely conincidental, but there probably is a strategy behind them. Suprisingly, there were THREE Op-Eds pertaining to oil in the New York Times today.

The first one Making Sure Where the Money Goes Where It Is Supposed To seems like it could have been written by a left-wing activist and details how the US is thirsting for oil and always looking for new sources.

The second one Can Profits Promote Democratcy in Africa? details how we should watch out when we do business with oil-producing countries. It also, in a way, highlights the idea that we should be promoting democracy and humanitarian values in Africa if we do conduct in oil-related industries.

The third one If Geology is Destiny, then Russia is in Trouble Highlights the problems of Russia becoming a petrostate - a state almost entirely dependent on oil revenues.

At least the Op-Eds didn't advocate taking over these countries and I think these articles are blowing open the big unknown in American society how much oil plays a role in American foreign policy.
