How will you celebrate if Limbaugh is tried, convicted and jailed?

First, let's not count our chickens before they hatch. Limbaugh is a wealthy, powerful member of the conservative elite in this country. He has the money to pay for the best lawyers money can buy--unlike many of the young black men he seeks to imprison by calling for totalitarian drug laws. He is also facing the "justice" of Jeb Bush's Florida and he has legions of supporters who would jump out of a high-rise building if he told them to do so.

Still, if the evidence is overwhelming it will be hard for authorities to just let him go. If Limbaugh is actually convicted and jailed, he will be off the air. Silenced. We won't have to hear the crap that comes out of his mouth anymore. This could be cause for the greatest celebrations in liberal precincts since the Nixon resignation or the Clinton election. This could be huge, like the collapse of the Berlin Wall or the end of the Soviet Union. How would you celebrate?

I hate what Rush does on the air, but I wish no one evil.

And I would not feel sad about any prison time he does.

But I think Rush is a human deserving of our prayers - as is everyone.

Hate wastes so much energy.

But, I doubt I will pick Rush to pray for. There are certainly a lot more deserving people in the world to expend effort towards...I leave his fate to God or his karmic rewards and will concentrate my effort on turning this country around and hopefully our attitudes towards helping those we'd just as soon bomb under this administration.

If they're not going to put Noelle Bush in jail for the same thing, I seriously doubt he's going to jail, either. Remember who's governor.

Best case scenario: He gets convicted and does a few days at the most. But as I've said earlier, a conviction would be the best thing to get conservatives to realize how bogus the war on drugs is.

I'd like to believe that but somehow I don't. Those laws serve some kind of unfathomable purpose IMHO, and they aren't going away soon. :(

Other than the aforementioned rarity of a rich white man being sentenced for drug charges that is, this is a tragedy and an all too common occurrence in our society. As much as I detest what Rush Limbaugh stands for I will not find any joy or vindication in such human misery.

I dont agree with the war on drugs. Especially since some of the most addictive drugs are the legal ones that rush illegally used. I cant celebrate this and i wont.

Then I will probalby get on the phone with my best friend who lives in Portland and enjoy a lot of high quality beer while we talk about what a huge victory it is.

In other words, I'll rejoice that he is off the air, but refrain from hateful attitudes about his sad, miserable, pitiable life. I hope he can pull himself together and maybe it'll take jail to make that happen.

With his money for a legal team, and his connections, I just don't see that happening.

a machine that churns out hate clones. He popularizes bigotry for the masses. He mocks all non-dittos. Rush created the phenomena of being an expert on everything without studying the subject. Rush gave birth to Hannity, O'reilley, Savage, Medved, Horowitz, Coulter.....so I wish him a healthy, drug free life in prison.

The outcome doesn't matter. Rush thinks his intelligence is way above the level of a prosecutor. He's got another think coming if he ends up in court. I just want to see that self-satisfied smug-mug taken down a few pegs. He could learn a little lesson in humility. And the damage it would do to him and his show would be priceless, to be revealed for the skulking, cowardly criminal that he actually is.

On being convicted, he would get probation if he cut some deals. As for being jailed, earth is probably more likely to be hit by an asteroid. Lady Justice still hasn't found a way to kick the whites and the wealthy in their hypocritical fat a**.
