All I Know,...Is What I See,...
,...and experience keeps pressing me. It is not merely "heartbreaking",...it is illogical (per the rules of that existence we have created). I am way beyond naive,...but,...when so many around me who have invested in being whole-hearted, well-educated, hard-working, ever-sort-of-lasting folks fall off to the way-side,...

Being "good" is not working,...it is not perpetuating anything good, at all,...

I am so confused.

1. Chill out and attend a candidate meet up. Listen and then engage.
When you find yourself needed, you'll be ok. Check the various websites for times and location.

2. Sounds like you could use a drink.
Yeah it sucks when you see all the good go by the way and in its place something bad comes.

What specifically are you talking about? Your post is kind of vague.

3. I do not care for an answer,...
,...anymore,...

I prefer holding onto all those who want to join the endeavor towards an "answer",...

Is that possible? Joining towards an answer,...instead of clinging to the answers we cling unto (which none of us could possibly "know" is right or wrong)? I wonder.

4. When the fall's all that's left....
In one West Wing episode Toby stops as he is leaving the Oval office, and mentions to President Barlett that his favorite movie was on TV last night, which I guess was a movie about King Richard or some such.

At any rate, Toby says that the movie was at the part where Richard and his brother are in prison and about be executed, and Richard tells his brother to stand tall and proud, and not cower or cry out.

And his brother turns to Richard and says, "you fool! As if it matters how a man falls down."

To which Richard responded, "when the fall's all that's left, it matters a great deal."

I don't have easy answers for you. Mabye the "fall" is all that is left for this society, or this world. But I tell you this: I believe even more now than I did four years ago that it absolutely matters how you live. I believe that even if the world is going down, it still matters how you live - because your "goodness" irreversibly impacts the lives of others.

And there's one other thing that comes from staying the course and keeping up the good fight even when it is heartbreaking at times....

...it is the ONLY THING that inspires the most powerful force for change the world has ever known: hope.

I'll be holding out some hope to you tonight. :)

7. Sorry you feel lost but,
I am way beyond naive,...but,...when so many around me who have invested in being whole-hearted, well-educated, hard-working, ever-sort-of-lasting folks fall off to the way-side,...

Naive is what you are if you expect or even want everyone to agree with you on everything. What a boring life that would be. I hope you can find the light but I also hope you can see that diversity in thought and ideas is also a Wonderful and Needed thing.
