Excellent News: Dean and Clark closing in on Bush in Florida
Great news out of the Sunshine State with 27 electoral votes. George W. Bush is looking vulnerable in the state of Florida. He barely beats unnamed Democrat by 43-37 and among real life Democrats, particularly Howard Dean and Wes Clark he is under 50%. Here are the results:

Bush: 49%
Dean: 41%

Bush: 48%
Clark: 40%

Both Dean and Clark are within 8-points of Bush in Florida.

Lieberman loses 51-40
Kerry loses 51-38
Edwards loses 53-35
Gep loses 50-39

But all of them are not hopelessly behind.

For Democratic nomination it is a tight race between Dean, Clark, and Lieberman:

Dean: 16%
Clark: 15%
Lieberman: 15%
Gep: 9%
Kerry 6%
Edwards 3%
Sharpton 3%
Braun 2%
Kucinich 1%

5. or Bush
Joe Leiberman supporters have a rhyme and a reason for their support. There is no reason to believe that all of Joe's support will remain within our party. That being said, it would also bet that his exit will boost Clark or perhaps Gephardt (I think much of Joe's support comes from his name recognition. People have known him for longer than a couple months or years).

3. With Jeb and the republicans firmly in control, electronic voting
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 10:39 AM by Oracle
machines (republicans own the software for) and four years of putting things in place to steal another election...knowing the media will promote only stories about how fair the elections are in Florida (no matter how corrupt the elections will be there) and Bush's 400 million dollar money machine, as well as Rove's very effective smear tactics...it will be very difficult for the democrats to take a very necessary, Florida.

The democrats have a lot of work to do and many hurdles to overcome to make it even close. The republicans have to steal Florida again.

Florida will be just as important this time as it was in 2000.

9. He is not unknown
and he is the only one (other than Kerry and Gephardt, and Sharpton) that has national name recognition. I think that he is the only candidate that has ever been on a Florida ballot. He is the only one to run a national campaign. Clark, Dean, Kucinich and even Edwards are newbies to Fla.

10. Yes, and validation
I think some voters will vote for the same person as they did before just to validate that vote. "Hey I voted for him last time and I wasn't wrong"

12. yes, name recognition
and face it, he's a 'nice Jewish boy.' Elderly people, with a large percentage of Jewish voters, aren't attracted to the 'young upstarts, the rabblerousers.' That's why it was such an obvious crock of sh*t when so many votes went to Buchanan in 2000 - even Buchanan knew it couldn't have happened that way!

And don't slam me for this comment, I have Jewish family members who would agree with me (if they were still alive!)

Think about it the seniors would love to have a Dr. in the house and the military would feel alot safer with a Generals direct input.

14. A question that no Floridian has yet answered
Isn't the same machine that was in place in 2000 still alive and well and better than ever? That's not a shot, Floridians, I truly would like to know and no one has answered it yet.

19. There is a difference now. People are losing confidence in GOP.
Jeb blusters, the legislature controls as usual. The same power is there, but there is a difference.

There is a difference in how the people are reacting. They are no longer swallowing the Republican party propaganda hook line and sinker.

Now the ones who were so much for Jeb! (like the signs were) last year are the ones who are more and more often on the defensive.

They do have the power here, though. In Florida there is enough print media who are moderate to help us if we don't self-destruct. We have newspapers who go after Jeb and the power structure.

I think we can take back Florida, that is if we ever even lost it. That is why it hurts to see so much infighting.

18. This wonderful Florida poll needs a kick for today.
http://www.sptimes.com/2003/12/05/State/Poll__Florida_Democra.shtml

Here is a link directly to the poll. Be sure to read the window that opens when you click More Poll Results. Lots of good info there.

This poll shows a way to go for Florida, but we are headed in the right direction finally. Only 43% would vote for Bush re-elect!!!
