Colorful Kerry quote
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 04:17 PM by ibegurpard
Has any Presidential candidate ever used the F-word in an on-the-record interview? This is amazing! Maybe Kerry's precarious position is allowing him to realize he has nothing to lose and he can just start to let the chips fall where they may. Don't know how this would fly with some people but it certainly gets a thumbs up from me!

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/43544.htm
""I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything'? Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f - - - it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did," Kerry told the youth-oriented magazine."

On edit: The quote above was pulled from an upcoming "Rolling Stone" interview so although the material above is the right-wing rag New York Post the source is not, I believe, right-wing.

3. Oh no, Kerry's human.
Given how many times I have used this fun word in a sentence with Bush, I'm glad to finally see a candidate let it rip.

6. "Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against
everything?'"

I had not heard this. Isn't Howard Dean for ANYTHING?!?
He must be for SOMETHING!?!

7. Of course he's not!
He's anti-EVERYTHING!

Leaving aside the obligatory Kerry reference to Dean does it not strike joy into your heart to hear the words "fuck-up" and "bush" in the same sentence from the mouth of not only a presidential candidate but a sitting senator?
Kerry has mountains to climb before he'll get my vote in a primary but he just made me a LITTLE more comfortable with the possibility of pulling the lever for him in a general election

9. No. I perfer people did not cuss.
You could make your points without resorting
to off color language. It's easy to let a cuss word
out of your mouth but it's hard to get it back into it.
As soon as it gets out it gets bigger than it was while
inside because people heard it. It's like trying to get
a ostrich back into a parakeet cage.

10. Bush called that report an asshole
and it was caught by a microhone and played over and over on cable news, but that wasn't quite an interview. This will be played too... and deservedly so! John said what each one of us are thinking. This war has gone beyond my gravest pre-war concerns. The absolute lack of any kind of plan or dependable foreign policy for the mideast makes me sick.

11. It's a "Rolling Stone" interview
of course he'll talk that way. But the real question is why does the NYPost give a shit? Here's why:
They end with this:
"Two polls this week showed Dean leads Kerry by a landslide 3-1 in key New Hampshire."

They just love sticking the knife in on John and turning it.

12. Babs called Hil a bitch
Anybody remember the hoopla back in 92? Babs said the next day that she had said witch and apologized.

In her book she said she really had called Hillary a bitch, so there's plenty of room in politics for naughty language if the old bitch herself can get away with it.

13. NICE!
And I thought Kerry was too reserved, calm, cool, and collected to let that little profanity slip out of his mouth!
