Really? I'm not a hardcore leftie and he won me over
He wins me over again and again everytime I hear him speak. I am a registered Independent and a swing voter.

23. I consider myself a "hardcore lefty"
And by the tener of you're reply you would rather Bush win the(to be more accurate as he didn't win the first time)election than vote for whomever is the eventual Democratic party candidate?

Currently I support Dennis Kucinich, though knowing he is among the longest of shots, therefore I will support, through actions and contributions, the Democratic Party's 2004 presidential nominee whomever that may be, with the exception of the senator from Connecticut.

5. He listed the Dems that supported the war and then. . .
. . .he even said Clark did. Unnecessary a front runner should not need to lie like that.

8. And failed to say he supported Biden-Lugar, once again.
HE supported a provision that allowed Bush the final decision for use of force, yet he PRETENDS he didn't while attacking the others for that same aspect in IWR.

9. Sheesh.
Why does he do that? Clark has too much class than to play his game. That is low. When everyone else takes the high road...he has to take it down the DIRT road. :(

25. Nobody supported the war
Nobody. They all supported, except Kucinich, the need to force Saddam to comply with inspections and militarily disarm if necessary.

6. I don't remember when I heard this or who said it....
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 05:13 PM by BJ
...but it goes something like this: Whenever the Democrats are told to line up and form a firing squad they make a circle.

BTW I just received an anti-Dean flyer from the Gephardt campaign in my mail today.

22. Yeah but sure do like to bash each other
Democrats sure like to bash each. But that is what makes this pary so great. The second thing that makes the democratic party so great is diversity.

12. Kerry did the same thing
or maybe your TV editted his lines about needing a veteran, his lines about raising middle class taxes, and taxing married people. My tv didn't edit those lines but maybe yours did. If so, then maybe you need to go to a friends house with a TV which doesn't edit stuff. That said, Dean is the front runner and shouldn't have done that.

13. this is where my reluctance on Dean comes in...
I generally like what he has to say, then I hear him do one of those digs like this one on the vote on the war, and it makes me squirm. It's not that I think he shouldn't say "I disagree", it's the way he says it. But I appreciate his saying not to take the base for granted as the Dems typically do.

I dunno, still can't decide on this guy.

But the McGovern meme is out there and there is a meme waiting in Rove's office for the rest of them too.

Gotta find the meme of all memes to set loose on Shrub. McAuliffe needs to get busy.

24. The only difference between Dean's digs and the digs of the others
obviously directed at Dean is that Dean has the balls to say what he thinks straight up rather than disguising it in some politically corrected passive aggressive barb. I happen to respect Dean's forthrightness.

27. I was listening in my car. Gave him major props for "Walking on Sunshine"
Props for enthusiasm of crowd. Liked what he was saying. Then that edge started to creep in. The smug - I've got all the asnwers. The arrogant anger. I can just hear channels being changed across middle America. Then he stooped to attacking the other candidates. Lied about Clark.

I just felt a great big F U.

34. Whatever. . .
. . .Clark was against this war. He advised the candidate on a vote, he did not endorse this war. But don't let the facts get in the way of an opportunity to bash Clark.

20. That's what he does
That's what he did at the JJ dinner, even called the Democrats Republicans. That's what he did in Vermont, it should be no surprise he keeps it up. Smears opponents to marginalize them. He doesn't care who they are.

31. Dean really turned me off when
he named the other candidates who voted for the war resolution, and included Clark too. I left the TV and came here. It was such an upbeat convention and I thought the new Florida Democratic Party Chairman Scott ? was doing such a great job of working to keep everyone together. Scott even announced that outside one group was chanting Go Dean and the other side was chanting Go Clark and then everybody joined together and said Bush* Must Go. Something like that. Then here comes Dean and blows the mood.
