Edited on Sun Dec-07-03 12:24 PM by cthrumatrix
Everyone knows the Enron energy scandal and collapse and their ties to the California energy problem which lead to the Davis recall.

But we don't hear much about the Bush/Chaney energy meetings. How could any repug not feel "slimey" after reading about this affair.

Cheney Reveals Meetings

In an earlier development, Vice President Dick Cheney, under pressure from Capitol Hill, for the first time acknowledged he and his aides had a series of meetings with Enron executives, including Lay, a major backer of the Bush campaign.

The meetings were to discuss Bush administration energy policy, and not financial concerns of the now-collapsed energy colossus, Cheney maintained. There is no indication that Bush administration officials are targets of the Justice Department inquiry.

In a letter faxed from Cheney's office to Rep. Henry Waxman on Jan. 3, but only released Tuesday, Cheney's office lists a total of six meetings between the vice president or his staff members on the administration's energy task force and Enron representatives.

Four of the meetings, including one between Cheney and Lay, took place before the task force issued a sweeping set of policy recommendations last May 17.

1. Hopefully It's Not Over Yet
Enron Canada is suing a few utilities in Canada to the tune of half-a-billion dollars. I don't think ShrubCo can hide the documents well enough to void the scrutinity of another nation.

4. You're absolutely correct...
Our media is a disgrace! Of course we will know every single detail about Scott and Lacy Peterson and Michael Jackson. When it comes to Enron, Haliburton, Iraq, Medicare - all the issues that matter - there will be little information. We get 30 seconds of a Democrat and Republican screaming at each other and blatant misinformation.

The key is for all of us to follow alternative news sources and not pay attention to the media whores.
