Did anyone see Rep. Dingell on this morning's Washington Journal?
90% of the conservatives who called in just wanted to make personal attacks.

He was discussing the Medicare bill.

They didn't want to talk about the bill -- they just wanted to attack and call him and all Democrats names.

Yet they are the first to point fingers at Democrats and yell foul.

1. I heard him Catwoman.
You're right. Most of the conservs that called in called him a liar about the Medicare bill. Also said all dems do is lie lie lie...it was pathetic but he handled them very well. He really pointed out the problems with the Medicare bill and the fat cat bloat for drug companies and insurance companies too. I hope a lot of people were listening to him.

2. I heard it and it was dismaying
after all the calls that have come in on earlier shows saying they were against this bill. He handled it very well. This morning was awful - it simply seemed to be "you are a Democrat therefore you are lying about this bill. Obviously, he wasn't lying and obviously a lot of people (including bush) do not know what is in this bill. It's awful.

4. I saw him too
he was very good at explaining the medicare issue in a clear, understandable way. The conservatives were, as usual, not calling in to talk about any specific issue regarding the bill, but just to call democrats names and basically make asses of themselves. I think the more that people hear these folks and how absolutely stupid they sound the better. It just makes our people look and sound that much more reasonable in comparison.

7. Dems need a calm one-line to respond to this behavior
that allows them to plant into the public psyche that in actuality it is the repubs and their minions who act in this way...

Say the line - and go back talking about the issue.

Don't know what the catchy phrase should be...

"yet another demonstration of from where the obstructionist, name calling tactics come..." Then back to the issue...

or

"thanks for the demonstration of why, in Washington these days, it is hard to get any real work of the people done. Too many folks don't really care about issues or how possible laws will actually work, and prefer instead to pointlessly call-names and throw stones."

"another public stoning, where the act of calling the name grows to be more important than any issue"...

9. Yet another talk radio listener.
All they do is repeat what they hear on talk radio. Dems are haters, angry, ignorant and on and on.

8. Another Exhibit
This is the type of stuff a lot of people need to see and hear...let them get the real face of the GOOP and those who are its most rabid followers.

There's a lot of unease with this regime right now, and this is a good example of the loathing that makes the moderates Republicans and independents very queasy. I want the RW to ratchet up the rhetoric as loud as they can...let it be heard without question as to their selfishness and arrogance...especially in light of the real suffering and questioning that's taking place across the country.

Sooner, rather than later, the noise the Right makes will start really boomeranging on them...the over-reach will catch up, it's let them hang on their own rope, and when no one's looking, give 'em a good kick!

If you haven't, checked out Will Pitt's interview with Sidney Blumenthal...he really maps things out.

Re a one liner:

why not use the ole:

Kill the messenger? Never mind the MESSAGE? Its the Ed Zackery Syndrome:

For this is Ed Zackery what they are doing, killing the Messenger.

The Pub Cretins want to win so bad, they resort to name calling, etc, the neg attack. And it seems, there is nothing anyone can do. They are what they are, ignorant sheep who want to look smart. What they don't realize, the attempt to look good (in the Pubs eyes), is based on lies(AKA Bluff). They have fallen for the Pubs shit, "Look good by repeating after me". Its a little known syndrome. However, when the bluff is called, they look like shit.

At this point, they often go into Denial/anger. They got Had with a lie that they had sucked for. Oh My, time to eat CROW. And so, not too many of those ilk consume Humble Pie, so they get angry.

This is a fucked World. The mind Set of the Pub is staged by the Pub Masters. They have fooled/bribed the worker Pubs/Sheep to do their bidding. and this is what we see today, a shitty world largely because of the Pubs agenda.. Victory by going NEG
