So that's the repukes' paln for '04 - call us Bush haters? Funny after all the hate they heaped on Ole' Bill. Anyway, how would you decribe your sentiment toward Bush?

A recent time magazine article implied that the only reason angry dems hate the guy is his smirk, or his phony piety, or his cockiness.

We don't hate Bush just like we don't hate a snake for being a snake.

I think I was right. Very few hate or dislike him primarily because of his personal quirks like the smirk, or his "Christianity". WE all have very logical reasons for disliking him. He is an enemy of this country, and the media does NOT report much of what he does. It's Kobe, Laci, and Jacko 24/7.

Don't malign snakes. Snakes are extremely beneficial creatures that keep other vermin at bay. Even the venomous snakes are good for the world, unlike Whistle Ass.

For me it's been hating since Newspeak ragazine put him on the cover in 1999 and asked (paraphrase) "is this our inevitable next pResident?"

It's been downhill since then. I had a little tickle of hope until his 2000 SC dirty tricks ("McCain is a commie with a black daughter and a druggie wife") took hold.

When the Cheney VP committee found that "gee, after much research, it turns out I'm the best guy. Whodathunkit?", I figured there was skullduggery afoot.

but I really dont think that George W Bush is an evil man. I think that he is very sheltered from reality, and that he is just a pawn of his father's clan. I think that he probably believes every word he says, because that is what he is lead to believe. I just cant hate the man, because I really think he is just too dumb to hate, if anything I wish he could really see the consequences of his actions.

I dislike him for lack of character. He is a liar, will do anything to hold on to power. His corrupt policies are a natural outgrowth of that. The religiosity, machismo, and anti-intellectualism also dovetail.

As a person he deserves the same compassion dserved by all sentient beings. It's a Buddhist thing, ya know? He certainly provides me good opportunity to work on that! That doesn't mean I love him, like him, dislike him or despise him. On that front I'm pretty neutral.

As a leader he's a complete freaking disaster and I want him home in Crawford soonest.

Folks, GDub isn't the problem. In fact, I think he's more emblematic of what the right wing wants *us* to be - stupid, malleable, lazy, cowardly - than he is of what *they* are. He's a figurehead.

Of course, he's the figurehead sitting in the Oval Office, so he's the electoral target. But removing Bush without addressing the underlying cabal of reconstructionists, PNACers and corporate globalists is like pissing on an inferno.

Ever notice how, since Nixon, the Republican idea of the president has been some likable old airheaded dildo?

Bush is the dog and pony show. He exists to distract our attention while the real "president", the NSC, commits all those crimes against the Constitution. You know, the ones they never quite seem to get thrown into prison for.
