An Appeal for Action re/9-11

I just called Senator Corzine's office at 202-224-4744 and Senator Lawtenberg's office at 202-224-3224 to appeal to their hearts and minds to have Kristen Beitwieser fill the empty seat on the 911 Commission when Max Cleland leaves. Maggie Morran is compiling the briefing in Corzine's office, and Doug (no last name) is compiling the briefing for Lawtenberg's office A woman answered at Corzine's office, and when I finished my appeal she asked me to spell Kristen's name for her (a good sign) - Lawtenberg's office seemed less interested, but they said they would handle the information properly. Everyone should call to support this woman from New Jersey - incourage these 2 New Jersey Senators to support Kristen

...but the board seems to be filled with Gore/Dean threads today and it may not get the attention it deserves.

- I'm beginning to have reservations about this particular commission. Their hands have been tied (by the WH) from the beginning and I'm not sure they can ever get to the truth with all these restrictions.

- What we need is a truly INDEPENDENT commission...or even better a special prosecutor.

sort of frustrating when there are important items that get pushed to the wayside for 10 Dean/Gore threads.

I also agree with you about the reservations - I certainly have them too - but how awesome would it be for Kristen to be put on the Board - man - she could so some real damage.

I posted an earlier message that is probably back to page 5-6 now about a press conference re 9/11 - happening tomorrow.

...is a commission that refuses to accept restraints and limitations set by those being investigated. Although it might receive more attention and fairness if Kristen came on board...the commission still won't have the power to get to the whole truth. It's a sham...and everyone knows it.

I just called these guys. The girl from Senator Latenburgs office said that they had actualley gotten a lot of calls on this. The other offices were answering machines.
