New CNN/USA TODAY/Gallup Poll - Dean, Gap Widening
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/12/08/elec04.prez.gore.dean/index.html

Its down under widening gap:

Looks like a pretty good day for Dean...

With the Dean campaign gaining momentum, a new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows Dean widening his front-runner status among the eight other Democratic candidates.

The poll showed that 25 percent of registered Democrats support Dean as their nominee, with retired Gen. Wesley Clark in second with 17 percent.

14. I promise to leave DU permanently if Dean wins.
Don't get me wrong, I WANT him to win. If he wins, it would be a re-aligning political time. I don't see it, though.

3. Dean and Gore will travel to Iowa together after the announcement
per this snip>

" This source said that Gore -- the Democratic Party's presidential candidate in 2000 -- thinks a protracted primary campaign would serve only to help President Bush.

Another source said the endorsement would occur at 8 a.m. Tuesday in New York City's Harlem -- where former President Clinton maintains his office -- and that Gore and Dean would then travel together to Iowa.

Dean would then head to New Hampshire for the crucial Democratic debate later Tuesday

I think this is really wonderful news, I respect Al very much and his endoresement of Dean will make an impact with the "average" Democratic voter.

5. Thanks for posting this.
Interesting that this puts Dean 10 points higher than the Pew poll.
Wonder whether they used a different time period or such. And of course the other interesting thing would be where the candidates behind Gen. Clark are pointwise...

12. Not only do i not "have" to feel bad for Holy Joe, I hope he's soooo
embarrased by his pitiful showing that he goes back to being a good repubican senator and never opens his yap on TV again.

8. I have little faith in polls so far in advance of the election.
Frankly I'll bet now that Clark is within either plus or minus 4% after the last votes are counted.

11. The Media Designated Winner pulls ahead! Woo hoo!
Can anyone tell me why we're bothering with a primary system at all? The candidate has already been chosen. Woo hoo! And nobody had to bother voting. Let's just skip that part and move ahead!

They love to ignore Kerry, who is only 3 points below Gep in the latest poll.

18. Ok, one thing to notice in the poll
It is "registered Democrats" not likely voters. Also there has been another national poll I saw today where Dean and Clark were tied.

So make of this what you will, I still think the race is close.

Cheers to all
