Why does the Democrat Party continue to allow this?
By this, I mean the continued mispronounciation and misspelling of the party name. Not just by freepers and media whores but by their colleagues on the Senate and House floor. I get SO irritated every time I hear it, why don't they??

If it were me, every time I heard that I would protest that there is no Democrat party, could you please use the proper name. If it continued I would start referring to the right side of the aisle as the Republik Party or some such name.

Any thoughts? Does this bother anyone else? Any ideas for a new name for the bad guys party??

And why they continue to let it slide is a complete mystery. It's another not-so-subtle attempt to control language and define the Democrats.

On edit: I am assuming that you did the same thing in your headline because of the nature of your post?

3. "Attempt to control language"
Yet another parallel to "1984". Now they're introducing NewSpeak...

2. you can't really stop people from being juvenile
Just try to count the number of times discussant here spell Nader's name "Nadar" or "Nadir" as some bold political gesture. It's not worth a response.

What Dems can do is figure out a snappy comeback to be used at a high-profile, meaningful time. It shouldn't be too hard to make partisan Republicans look stupid.

4. That Repub-invented term...
Seeks to deprive us of the very thing we were founded to promote and continue: democracy. It also shows--in a way I'm sure its GOP inventors did not intend--their party's distaste for real, direct democracy--the kind an ORIGINAL Repub like Abe Lincoln took up for: "...that government of the people , by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the face of the Earth"...but only Teddy Roosevelt and a handful of others on their side have since.

I won't allow our Party to be insulted this way verbally by ANYONE, Repub or otherwise. We are the DEMOCRATIC Paty, and we will always BE so!x(

11. My GD is as dangerous as they say
Hey Will, next time you get some Dem Pol's ear, ask him about this please. I know there are many more important issues but it is a huge sign of disrespect that is unwarranted.

And if that's what they want to call it that's fine with me as long as that's how they vote.

We don't take kindly to the Queen's English down here. Sounds too hoity-toity.
