5. Someone that AL Gore gave his blessings....
Newsom is the "quasi-pseudo" Democrat that is in the runoof for mayor in the City of San Francisco vs. Matt Gonzalez from the Green Party.

Al Gore trying to sway a non--partisan election....just shows the Gore has lost his sense of honor and respect.

Here is the link for the election results:

12. I found it through the link above and could find no
$2000 donation from a Newsom in SF through Open Secrets...which is interesting since if I put in names I KNOW to be contributors (since I have raised funds for PACS) I can find every one.

Is that the same Newsom? If so, looks like he gave to Gore and Bradley, NOT Bush.

11. Is this photoshopped or can you provide a link
to any campaign finance web site? This is what I love about Greens. Can't earn the votes? Lie.

And by the way, I could start a group called Nader 2004 and donate to Tom Delay.

15. yes...
as reported elsewhere, Newsom paid $500 to be included on a republican mailer.

Not terribly reassuring, but it's also not the same as contributing to Bush2000 as has been repeatedly claimed by one misinformed poster here.

18. Newsom did pay to be in GOP endorsement mailer *I think.*
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 12:21 AM by David__77
Newsom was endorsed by the GOP in 2000:
http://www.sfgop.org/11072000.html

I believe he, along with some other Democrats, paid for an appearance on the GOP election mailer. See this discussion of the matter:
http://pub111.ezboard.com/fsfpolifacticsfrm9.showMessage?topicID=245.topic

This practice is wrong. We are giving exposure to a party we mustn't support. GOP is free to exist in SF, but we should do nothing to perpetuate their existence. The Greens can be the opposition party.

21. No...
the picture in the original post confirms that Gavin Newsom's campaign in 2000 paid $500 to the county Republican Central Committee. It was to be included on a republican mailer that was sent out.

End of story.
