I learned something about Reagan today.
It dosen't matter.

Iran/Contra? I don't care about that.

Weapons to Saddam Hussain? Don't care about that either.

Ronald was the greatest president we have ever had and it dosen't matter waht he did while he was in power. I learned this while holding a conversation with one of my cow-irkers. He is a die hard Reagan lover, and hates Carter adn Clinton. None of the good things Jim and Bill have done amount to anything, and anyhting Ron did bad don't either.

How can we have been so wrong all this time?

And it looks like they are adopting the same tact with their current Tin God.

Republican=good, democrat=bad

There is no changing their mind. Believe me, I've tried.

2. best thing about the reaganites is the denial
they say : Reagan was the greatest leader of the 20th century

I say "what about all of the scandals, indictments etc."

they say: he didnt know about that. That was done without his approval.

in Summary the "greatest leader" in the 20th century had no clue was his people were doing or was totally involved. your choice .

6. In this case...
...it dosen't matter either way. It was all done for the greater glory of the US and that makes it completely justifiable and excusable.

3. Every Reagan scandal...
has two things that will prevent it from working against the Repubs today.

1) It's more complicated than a blowjob.

2) It happened 20 years ago.

Numbnuts like the guy you talked to also honestly believe that any bit of dirt on Reagan was just concocted by Democrats anyway (and, naturally, that EVERY rumor about Clinton, no matter how unfounded, is 100% true and maybe even worse than rumored).

exactly why nobody (but the screaming righties) really thought that WhiteWater was relevent.

17. Awesome, soon-to-be-quoted list, however...
#39 is wrong, I think. I remember CLEARLY hearing those words come outta Shrub's daddy's mouth in reference to Family Feud I, er, I mean, the FIRST Gulf War. Unless Reagan said them first, but I don't remember him doing so.

Being a big fan of the Showtime movie about his assassination attempt, you could add:

First to have his Secretary of State leapfrog the line of cecession, First administration to LOSE the atomic football (the button, in other words), FIRST to distance themselves politically from his press secretary for taking a bullet for him, and FIRST President to not cecede the Office, even while he was under anethesia!

19. That was after our infamous Grenada invasion,
which, coincidently, happened immediately after the Beirut bombing fiasco when we lost 250 American marines on a politically demanded "show the flag" exercise. This may have been the original "wag the dog" distraction strategy as well as their chickenhawk war plan...invade/defeat a defenseless nation, then proclaim a great military victory.

5. Here's a vicious question for a Reagonophilic

If he was so great why has God inflicted upon him the closest thing a human can come to a living hell, a disease that slowly eats the conscious mind?

It seems to me that there is a reason God hates Ronbo.

9. He deserves it
And yes I know this makes me a bad person. But some days it's hard not to believe with evil glee in karma. How many times at the Iran-Contra hearings did he say "I do not recall"?

It's like the universe said, "Alright motherfucker, I'll make good and damn sure you don't recall."

I try not to be vindictive like this and I'm waiting patiently for DarkPhenyx to remind me that it's bad for my karma. :-)

Diseases and addictions...two things that I won't beat people up over. If they become hypocritical about it then they are fair game, but until Ron and Nancy start kicking the retarded or something I'm going to hold my tongue over it.

There's nothing you can say to change the mind of someone like that. You have to hit them on the head with a shovel - it'll either knock some sense into them or put them out of your misery.

22. Goebbels v2.0 has conditioned them that way
Ever read Orwell's "1984".

Classic Doublethink.

This is no accident or coincidence. Thsi is the result of 25 years of Bushevik assaults on America, including the FCC rules that were originally put in place after seeing what Stalin and Hitler did with their media and to guard against it happening here.

It's no coincidence that the FCC rules have been assaulted by the Busheviks or that the curiously coincidental timing that once they were fully released from those FCC rules, that pale imitations of Stalin's and Hitler's media began to be on OUR TVs.

No coincidence at all. These are people with a long-range plan and I'm not so certain it wasn't laid down by the Operation Paperclip nazis the Busheviks brought over in the 40s and 50s.

24. Let us never forget this
Letter from Rep Dingell to Leslie Moonves:
(found at http://www.dailykos.com/section/Media)

Mr. Leslie Moonves
President and CEO
CBS Television
51 West 52nd Street
New York, NY 10019

Dear Mr. Moonves:

I write to you with regard to your upcoming mini-series "The Reagans." I share the concerns expressed by others that it may not present an accurate depiction of the Reagan administration and America during the 1980s. I trust that CBS will not be a party to a distorted presentation of American history, and that the mini-series will present a fair and balanced portrayal of the Reagans, the 1980s and their legacy.

As someone who served with President Reagan, and in the interest of historical accuracy, please allow me to share with you some of my recollections of the Reagan years that I hope will make it into the final cut of the mini-series: $640 Pentagon toilets seats; ketchup as a vegetable; union busting; firing striking air traffic controllers; Iran-Contra; selling arms to terrorist nations; trading arms for hostages; retreating from terrorists in Beirut; lying to Congress; financing an illegal war in Nicaragua; visiting Bitburg cemetery; a cozy relationship with Saddam Hussein; shredding documents; Ed Meese; Fawn Hall; Oliver North; James Watt; apartheid apologia; the savings and loan scandal; voodoo economics; record budget deficits; double digit unemployment; farm bankruptcies; trade deficits; astrologers in the White House; Star Wars; and influence peddling.

I hope you find these facts useful in accurately depicting President Reagan's time in office.

With every good wish,
Sincerely yours,

John D. Dingell
Member of Congress
