Status of White House Treason Investigation??

Member(s) of bush's staff gave karl rove's slut, bob novak (and six other journalists) the name of an undercover CIA operative to punish the operatives husband because he dared tell the truth about a republican. Such name giving is a FEDERAL CRIME. The outing occurred almost five months ago. Status of Investigation? Has Novak, the only "journalist," to use the passed on information been arrested? Has ashcroft arrested anyone in the white house for committing this federal crime? Do we just sit back and say, OH WELL, I guess they got away with another one. While you are on the Net today, shoot your congressional rep an email DEMANDING action be taken NOW. A FEDERAL CRIME was committed within the BUSH WHITE HOUSE. I hate to say it, but what if?? Clinton were President? Would there be any news updating on this subject? Raise hell, please!!!!

You are right, of course, had it been under Clinton's watch we'd still be hearing about it...

There are 5 media folks and 1 insider(deepguts) who can stand along side the many Americans who have protected American security. One of these six have to have been brought up to understand that this Great Country should not tolerate traitors in government. The deserters own father would support this outing.

We don't want the government to start going around arresting journalists, even ones that are thinly-disguised Republican hacks. What Novak did was unethical, but it wasn't illegal, nor should it be. The criminals are in the White House and the Old Executive Office Building, not at the Chicago Sun-Times.

HOWEVER, if you believe what he did was unethical then log on to www.bustbob.com and sign a petition which will be sent to his bosses at the newspaper recomending he be fired for his actions. Someone with access to classified information gave NOVAK access to that classified information and he, not those in the White House, made it public. I don't want the government to round up journalists, I want journalists to be ethical and act within the law. Novak did not.

Let's face it, Rush, Novak, and other quislings only survive in the marketplace because they are of value to their advertisers, and to the ruling class.

If freedom of the press were absolute, then libel laws could not exist.

Ironically, if I were an active, radical leftist, and Nofacts published my name falsely as a CIA agent, and I could show damage, malicious intent etc., I believe I might have grounds for libel, no?

What are the limits on Nofacts? What if he had published the names of 20 NOC agents? How about 200?

If I were a dirty commie rat, can I publish the entire CIA personnel roster? How about publishing extremely secret NSA info, or today's operational plans in Iraq?

Nofacts' exemption is not absolute. And it does not even require the fist of the state to remedy this. He could make an exception to his source protection rule, just like he did for the FBI traitor.

I guess its different when the traitor's shoe is on his own foor.

. . .on the energy bill, when the commission investigating 9/11 gets full cooperation from the White House, that's when this investigation will have meaning. In other words, never. Nixon wishes he had gotten the free pass this administration has, from the press and the "loyal opposition" (which is opposition in name only - yes, this means you, Sen. Daschle). I like your passion, but be prepared to get a polite note from your rep and nothing else.

This one is not dead. It is only hibernating. Wilson wants to give the FBI and the Administration enough rope so they can hang themselves then he is going to lower the boom. There is no way in hell that the career folks at the CIA are going to take this lying down. Rove stepped in this one big time and he is not going to be able to wiggle out. DONT' F..K WITH THE SPOOKS!!

Now that it's clear that he is a tool of the White House, why would people keep reading him and listening to him?

<snip>Since September 29th? Nothing, not a word. Nothing from the White House and nothing from the Department of Justice. The President never asked his staff to investigate the matter and never called for the leaker to come forward. The White House is, however, "cooperating."

The Department of Justice investigation appears to be at a standstill. Sure, the Department might claim that even the existence of a grand jury investigating the matter is a secret, but recall how such secret investigations were conducted during the Clinton years. Was there ever a grand jury matter that wasn’t leaked to the press? No, the press set up camp outside the Courthouse where the grand jury sat and took note of and publicly report on every person who went in. A grand jury investigation involving the White House is too good a story not to be subject of its own leak.

Why has the investigation stalled? Is it because the Department of Justice, just as suspected by the Democrats all along, isn’t serious about prosecuting the leaker? Is it because George Bush has swept the matter under the carpet? Where are the Congressional hearings that were so common during the Clinton administration? Can anyone seriously doubt if the same events had transpired during the Clinton years there would have been day after day, and month after month of hearings with Congressional leaders clamoring for an independent counsel, with the result that one would have been appointed?

I guess the truth is that neither this administration, nor this Congress, cares nearly as much about national security and the safety of undercover operatives as they do about politics.
