The Howard Dean Effect

Yesterday on the Guy James Show, both Nancy Skinner and Jeff Seeman (our own Angry White Democrat), mentioned Howard Dean as an example of how a grassroots campaign especially online can be run or a reason why they decided to run.

When I listened to Howard Dean on Vt. Public Radio, he said he could help take back the Senate and House for Dems if he wins the nomination.

This leads to a question - Do you or anyone you know plan on running for office due to Howard Dean? What level of government?

I know I plan on modeling the steering committee for Guy's show somewhat like the Dean campaign.

Are there other ways Howard Dean is affecting politics on the internet?

I saw him announcement that he was running, and hope he'll have a web link up soon. I suspect he can get some good initial publicity if he doees something like dean fundraising -- He could probably get 1,000 DUer to all contribute 25 bucks in one day -- which would probably get him noticed by the media.

But he needs a link we can check on. We can't be sure we'll see postings about him on DU.

He'll probably post the link once he has it "live".
