CSPAN callers REAMING faux admin over Tenet resignation
Edited on Sun Jul-27-03 06:43 AM by julka
Question: should Tenet resign?

"We have a president who's a yellowback"

caller after caller is showing outrage at the junta's secrecy, lack of accountability, lying, incompetence, you name it.

the callers in support of Bush are ignorami, one said, ha, that Carville and Begala shouldn't even be allowed in the media at all. too funny. he also called them a name......can't remember.

I was first caller, said if anyone resigns it should be Condoleeza Rice first, as she's been revealed as a liar on at least two points: the bowels of the WH bit, which was belied by Tenet's contacting Hadley (how could he NOT tell her?), and her professed ignorance of the idea that planes might be sent into buildings. I mentioned the memo from Aug 6, 2001, and how Bush, when notified of the imminent dangers presented, just went out and cleared away the bushes at his ranch, and just STAYED on VACATION for another month. Said that nobody's buying the fact that national security is the reason for not revealing what was in that report, then asked moderator if * was planning on taking another month off this year.

he also read from Mark Morford:

"Shrub's ratings have dropped below 50 percent for the first (and probably not the last) time since they surged hugely right after 9/11 and he was hoisted in front of a wary America and puffed out his chest and pretended like he could find Afghanistan on a map and promised he would bomb every damn country on the planet that didn't have a McDonald's or an Exxon or a secret U.S. chemical-weapons deal.

Shrub's numbers are down. The nation is catching on. The armor of money and power is cracking. The smirk is waning. Dick's defibrillator is running on fumes."

I think he read more, but he definitely read the above!!!

too bad he didn't read the next paragraph:

"And Karl Rove, Shrub's master strategist, is scrambling, rushing down hallways, sweating hard, mapping out lib-killer tactics and frantically redirecting blame (CIA! FBI! The NSA!) as nine Demo candidates have a field day knocking all of Shrub's shortcomings out of the ideological park."

http://www.sfgate.com/columnists/morford/

each successive call is just BRUTAL toward the regime

this happened one other time in the last few weeks: almost every call against the chimp.

1. caller just said this:
Bush CAN'T fire Tenet, even if he wants to, because of the Americans With Disabilities Act.

huh?

he explained himself by saying that Tenet became disabled by FALLING ON HIS SWORD for Bush!

?????????

mentioned that Bush supporters were outnumbered 10 to three this morning. then asked, plaintively, "What's wrong with CSPAN?"

4. Stephen Hayes, Weekly Standard apologist is on now
he went with Wolfowitz, and claims that Wolfowitz used WMDs as only a part of his assertions pre-war, and is MUCH more concerned with human rights violations than WMDs.

calls Wolfowitz a "lifelong diplomat and strategic thinker"

when was he ever a diplomat?

moderator actually asked Hayes if this after the fact disinterest in finding WMDs and accentuating human rights could be seen as "spinning"

wimpy writer had to admit that there's some justification in people seeing it that way

5. this guy is telling people to listen to him, and ignore their lying eyes!
says his BRIEFINGS have made him see that "Islamist, mid-level Baathists," etc., are behind the killings the moderator asked him about, and trying to explain away the THIRTEEN soldiers killed this past week. can you say Gulf War I. oh, he was embedded with Iraqi-American soldiers, and said how cool it was.

speaking of weak, this guy is the WEAKEST, lamest apologist I've ever seen. looks and sounds like he's staving off a night long drunk.

6. after I mentioned Condoleeza's inconsistent stories the moderator read:
this from wash post

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=36544&mesg_id=36544&page=

read this, I think:

Just weeks ago, Condoleezza Rice, President Bush's national security adviser, made a trip to the Middle East that was widely seen as advancing the peace process. There was speculation that she would be a likely choice for secretary of state, and hopes among Republicans that she could become governor of California and even, someday, president.

But she has since become enmeshed in the controversy over the administration's use of intelligence about Iraq's weapons in the run-up to war. She has been made to appear out of the loop by colleagues' claims that she did not read or recall vital pieces of intelligence. And she has made statements about U.S. intelligence on Iraq that have been contradicted by facts that later emerged.

The remarks by Rice and her associates raise two uncomfortable possibilities for the national security adviser. Either she missed or overlooked numerous warnings from intelligence agencies seeking to put caveats on claims about Iraq's nuclear weapons program, or she made public claims that she knew to be false.

7. caller:
we could have achieved same ends WITHOUT invading, by keeping inspectors there.

Hayes cites "rotating reasons" for going in there, defends them, then falls back on human rights reasons, the hundreds of thousands of deaths. stumbling over his words, groping for justifications.

making the worst case I've seen; even admitted the caller had valid points.

wishy washy conservabot?

Idiot. "I head FOX News say they know where the weapons are, but they aren't going to bring them out until election time" Righhhhtttt.

"If the dems think 02 was a disaster they better buckle seat belts for 04". Unfortunately he's probably right...

"Dems don't care about soldiers" Check Bush on this smart one.

Why are repubs always so agitated, loud, and angry when they call in?

12. deluded caller now:
says the reason we didn't finish the job in 1991 because we didn't have the weaponry, and we'd have had lots more casualties.

NOW, though, thanks to "keeping up the arms race" (with whom?), we had an easy time!!!!!!!!!!!

huh?

no..........the reason we had an easy time is that, due to INSPECTIONS and embargoes, Saddam had almost NO functioning army and ZERO air force at all. we had a cake walk against a country unable to defend itself. what kind of threat did they represent, based on their miserable performance defending their own homeland?

he was PISSED at the "hatemongers" like Limbaugh

just rambling incoherently, saying Clinton got two terms, even though he was a terrible president, and NOW, "they're trying to keep George Bush from having a second term."

Bush should have a second term without any question, and without any problems from the democrats.

Hillary, with all her mistakes, is one of the leaders in downing Bush.

and she was TEACHER! lord help us.

20. yeah
don't you love that the LARGE preponderance of imbecilic calls are from demented loons on the right? granted, there are plenty on the left, but the wingers are just so out of it.

did you hear the guy who said he was a Ranger, and he knows soldiers over there who could care LESS about *, then pasted the youthful gauleiter for the policies of his fuhrer?

why couldn't they have had a young democrat? do they exist?

it's always YAF, Young Republicans, Young Conservatives (did you see the Warrior the other day?), Young neoFascists?

don't dems have ANY organizations at that level?

I was hoping (dream on) that the moderator had asked WHERE this puke and his group get all their money.

22. Young Dems at college probably have enough things to do
they are probably not interested in joining a "cult"...

Cults appeal to the repressed fundies.. :(

I WISH colleges had more involved young Dems.. The draft that's cooming up, will change that.. Dems usually come for lower income families and when they start getting their "letters" or their younger brothers do, they will get active..

I hope it's not too late by then :(

The C-Span Aerobic Regimen

We get up around 6 a.m.
Mrs. t. goes jogging, getting her heart rate up to around 120 beats per minute for 30 minutes.
I get a cup of coffee and a smoke, turn on C-Span, and get my heart rate up to about 120 beats per minute for 30 minutes.
I'm very health conscious.
