Disrespect against Ted Koppel yesterday!!!!
I watched the WH press briefing with McClelland. I don't know all of the press corps, but there is an older (I guess his first name is Les), ultra-conservative reporter who precedes most of his questions with slobbering praise for Bush*, manifests concern about the religious right's lack of influence and in general tries to criticize the Democrats. From the transcript:

Q Do you remember any incident where the President has ever treated any member of the media as insultingly as those Democrat presidential candidates did to Ted Koppel last night?

MR. McCLELLAN: Didn't see the debate, Les, so --

Q You didn't see the debate? You read about it. You certainly saw what those people did to Ted Koppel. Now, has the President ever done anything --

MR. McCLELLAN: I'm focused on our business here at the White House at the direction of the President.

By the way, I must be going crazy: I was laughing all through the briefing because McClelland preceded each statement about Iraq (which were many) with:

"sacrificing to build a free and prosperous Iraq for the Iraqi people to make the world a safer and better place."

The media whores are still not doing their job. I have to laugh not to cry.

2. Who was it Bush said--again--had "a face made for radio"?

This is crap. Junior rarely allows the press close enough to abuse them. When he does, if he gets any static, he displays the same deep streak of ugliness that he does in every other vicious, selfish and vengeful act of his vulgar existence.

I must say it was fun to see Koppel get hammered, though. I've disliked that twinkly-eyed, pompous little sniper for over twenty years, and it's nice to see him hit some resistance, especially when he provoked it with smarmy and insulting questions. He deserved it and it was obvious.

7. Koppel thought he was interviewing them
...for a puff piece in People Magazine. That's the level of question he was asking (yes, I read the transcript).

Koppel has been in the business long enough to know better. Some people have gone so far to ask if he'd had something slipped into his coffee before the debate started.

These jokers in the mass media need a wakeup call. I'm glad Kucinich gave Koppel his, and I'm glad the crowd backed him up.

12. Read what Atrios had to say about the interviews
http://atrios.blogspot.com/

It took CowBell 19 questions before he asked anything about policy.

8. Don't forget what * did to David Gregory.
When Gregory spoke French, * insulted him: "Four words and he thinks he's fluent."

David Gregory IS fluent in French... and in English!

13. Koppel is a moron
He's been pandering to the right wing for so long, I quit watching Nightline years ago. I get better news on the Daily Show.

I'm glad Kucinich let him have it, and Kerry told him where he could put his polls.

I was amazed that these guys would even agree to debates, letting ABC and Fox control the debates. I watched Fluffy Mathews trying to trip up Howard Dean last week and Wesley Clark this week. I never watch Hardball, but last week Mathews kept hammering Dean about his draft defferment. After it was over I went to take a shower and when I came back out Mathews was on Countdown talking about how Dean admitted he was trying for a medical deferment and how our brave president performed "heroically" flying fighter jets in the National Guard. I wanted to puke!:spank:
