5. Any word on who will replace him?
We have to out-organize, out-smart, and out-work the GOP in the next year, so we'd better have somebody with energy to burn and an IQ that's off the charts, plus good old-fashioned political shrewdness. All the good intentions in the world won't matter if we don't have the right person in the position.

That said, I am not sorry to see McAuliffe go.

53. It'd be interesting to see if he could mobilize the base as DNC chair
like he's done with Dean.

But if McCauliffe retires in '04, Trippi will still be with Dean so it's moot.

the 2002 elections
The loss of California Governorship
The losses of Kentucky and Mississippi

All have taken a toll. I hope we get a strong leader.

17. "Time With The kids"--that's Latin for "They Kicked My Sorry A**

definitely good news, and if he felt compelled to say it first on Faux, then it's doubly clear this dips**t had to go!

Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 05:24 PM by bluestateguy
It is entirely possible that we may have a presumptive nominee by then. Maybe not, if the outcome on Feb. 3 is mixed, but McAullife's departure probably would help Dean if we ended up in a brokered convention situation.

the popular myth that McAuliffe is solid DLC and backed by forces that do not favor Howard Dean.

24. reply
McAuliffe is tied to the Clintons and the DLC. He prefers either Clark ,Edwards, Lieberman or maybe Kerry and Gebhart. As DNC Chairman he can move a lot of votes on the convention floor in a brokered convention situation, and he would have used that job to deny Dean the nomination if the primaries failed to do so.

told and they have to be rotated out, like a soldier in battle.

He'll be given a nice job with Haliburton, now after uttering such a steady stream of mendacity that he lives on, a broken husk of a human being.

48. This may actually help Dean get nominated
McAuliffe getting the boot may demoralize the DLCers and "Clintonistas" since one of their own is already leaving, it will be "why bother keeping a Deanie out of the DNC chair" I hope that Gore gets the nod, although it could upstage whoever's President.

put someone like holy Joe in there!!! Follow the $$$, folks! They SURE aren't going to put a firey "liberal" in charge of the DNC.

They're probably pissed because McAuliffe wasn't able to hold Gore in check from endorsing some renegade like Dean. Since the Dems have been so fully infiltrated in the DLC and NDN by the same people that finance the repuke candidates, they're just wanting more goose-stepping like the repukes do.

Holy shit! What can we do about this problem??? Call George Soros!!
