Edwards is the only one that has the slightest shot at defeating Dubya
And even his chances don't look so good. Can't the democrats get better candidates then these?

3. A number of things
It's the hair, the charisma, the good looks, the southern accent, etc.

11. oh gee, in that case I picked the wrong candidate
. . . silly me, I somehow thought it had to do with his platform, his ability to rally people around him, his history and resume, his effectiveness as a leader and congressman or other elected official, his compassion and sincerity. But you have definitely convinced me that his hair represents THE most important issue facing American voters today.

17. Ok
Do you think Carrott Top would be elected even if he had the best ideas and platform to run this country?

29. when was Carrot Top ever a congressman, governor, or other
elected official? Candidates become QUALIFIED based on previous performance in elected office or as public servants.

Carrot Top is a public nuisance, not a public servant.

but I really see your line of reasoning:

Hair/appearance is irrelevant
Carrot Top has "bad hair" but (for the sake of argument) has good ideas
therefore, since his hair is irrelevant, he should be elected.

:wtf:

31. Carrot Top does have nice deltoids, though.
Maybe he should run for Governor of California!

33. That is why Carrot Top can't win for 2 reasons
You need 2 reasons to win, you need to have served previous elected office and you need the package. The package is charisma, good lucks, charm, hair, etc. All of the other candidates besides Sharpton and Clark have 1 reason to win but only Edwards has the second reason to win.

23. This rallies
one of the most ridiculous argument I've heard against Edward's electability. Re: the rural MO vote I talked to someone who said he was "too good looking." Farmers don't like to vote for pretty boys.

5. I like Edwards but your thread will likely be locked.
You've got to support your opinions (particularly negative ones toward other candidates) with evidence.

6. Electability is not based on evidence
It is based on personality and Edwards has that, he has good lucks, charm, great hair, he is a southerner, etc.

7. I think you need to give Americans more credit
I highly doubt that the most important criteria to them is good hair.

my local supermarket was presidential material. He has the most beautiful hair I've ever seen, and every time I go in he smiles from ear to ear and greets me by my first name. Talk about charisma!! OK guys, Ernie from Kroger gets my vote!!
