Would the War in Iraq have been different if US had invaded from north?

As was their initial strategy...They were going to operate out of Turkey and invade from the North. That area of Iraq was better known to US and was considered more friendly. However, Turkey refused to be the base of operations for obvious reasons and Bush and Cheney et al had to change their plans and invade from the south. By going thru towns such as Nasriya and other "unfriendly" towns, did it make it much more difficult coming from the south rather than the north?

Occupying and ruling a country is the primary problem with this policy.

2. It probably would have been much worse by now from the Shiite POV

Being that the US would have had the Iraqi Kurdish armies in tow as they move southwards. IMHO most Iraqis of non-Kurdish descent would have become far more antagonistic by now if that had been the case.
