What I think it will take for liberals to beat Bush
Here is just a little bit of what I think it will take to get a large enough win in 2004 to keep the USSC out of the election.

Number one: It is going to take every last one of us chipping away at the repubs talking points. Notice I said all of us and not the media. We depend on the media and the likes of Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others go to work dispelling everything and reenergizing that far right wing base. We need that drip, drip, drip, affect with every voting age person in this country.

Number two: We need to get every last person who is liberal and of voting age to register and then make sure they get to the poles on election day. The 2004 election needs to be such a landslide in liberals favor that any USSC action would be a glaring coup d'etat that even the repukes couldn’t ignore.

Number three: This may sound under handed to some but we need to do a little splitting of that rethug voting base. We do that by planting that seed of doubt about the boy king’s competency and then go on to say something like, “I’m just can’t bring myself to vote for Bush again.” Of course give a few reason why that a repuke would agree with. Then go on to say something like, “On the other hand, I’m not convinced anyone in the Democrat’s line up can handle the job either. I’m seriously considering just staying home on election day.” Maybe even stick in something like, “With these issues about touch screen voting capable of being hacked our votes probably won’t count anyway.” Just another example of that drip, drip, drip, affect to work.

Number four: We liberals will also have to recognize reverse psychology for what it is, and attempt to preempt and success we might make in the campaign. Example: there are reports that repubs are supporting Dean and many liberals are worrying that maybe we should dump Dean and like nothing but quick. Could it be that repukes already figured out the affect of reverse psychology and are using it against us??

Number five: We also need to keep hammering away at the heads of repukes about Cheney’s energy meeting. We can also mention the Saudi connection to 9/11 and the fact that the only two people who could have given a “stand down order“ was Bush or Cheney. And don’t forget the oil directed war with Iraq or the millions Bush and Cheney are making from this war. Of course have evidence to back all this up with. We need to point out that this misadministration makes anything Nixon did pale in comparison and point out why Bush is so against an international war criminals court, because him and Cheney would be the first two that qualified in every way.

Number six: We also need to point out to every last repuke that the Bush family are old hats at underhanded tactics and “dealing with the enemy” all the way back from Prescott Bush’s days continuing on to Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and Cheney. We need to show that pattern from WWII on up to and including today. In other words we need to completely destroy any favorable reputation that repukes ever thought they had.

Number seven: Here is the most important issue for winning in 2004 and winning big. Those who are indeed true liberals need to speak in one main voice. Before anyone chooses to jump down my throat for this let me point out that I AM NOT SUGGESTING that we give up our individual issues or candidates. What I am suggesting is that those who are not on the fringes of liberalism need to speak to those issues all true liberals believe in and keep hammering away with those issues. Examples; education, health care for all Americans, care for our military and their needs, Social Security, and on and on the list goes.

Number eight: We need to continuously contact the media with this information about the Bush family as well as their present actions and follow up when they do or do not carry the stuff on the networks and cable/dish stations.

Now, flame away if the urge strikes but at the same time show where and how I am wrong.

2. Sometimes a lot can be said with silence...
Especially when people know what is happening...even Repubs.

3. Maybe concentrate less on the label and more on the purpose.
What do Americans need? To succeed, to be safe, happy, healthy?

Is it in the best interest of the NATION for its population to be so? For its air to be pure, its water potable, its land and topsoil fertile and unpolluted?

Is it in the best interest of the NATION for its population to be well educated? To be in the forefront of research: medical, energy, technological?

Is it in the best interest of this nation that our army not be wasted on pointless militaristic adventures for the benefit of international corporations with no loyalty to our people, values, or constitution?

Is it in the best interest of this nation that every vote be counted accurately?

Then why is our wealth not being devoted to these aims?

Stop worrying about your labeled agendas and start asking what's best for your nation.

THAT'S how we win.

4. Not by bread alone
Liberal Libra: while all your points are well taken, one of the biggest assets Bush and his gang have going is that they have tapped into the fear all Americans have for the arabs/Muslims.So long as Bush is seen as an uncompromising basher of Arabs post 9/11 all democrats are going to have a hard time. I am sorry to say that
much of this fear is based on prejudice and may even have been deliberately stage managed. This appeal to fear and prejudice could be so powerful, I am afraid all appeals to pocket book issues may fall by the wayside.

Sorry to rain on your parade but this is the way the world works.
