Time to re-open discussion of operation "Vigilant Guardian"
That is the name of the NORAD or National Recon agency exercise being conducted on 9-11-01.

Is there any mention of this exercise in the official report?

If not, why not?

Mindy Kleinberg testimony to 9-11 commission.

“If that weren't protection enough, on September 11th, NEADS (or the North East Air Defense System dept of NORAD) was several days into a semi-annual exercise known as ‘Vigilant Guardian.” This meant that our North East Air Defense system was fully staffed. In short, key officers were manning the operation battle center, ‘fighter jets were cocked, loaded, and carrying extra gas on board.’ ”

1. Surprised they didn't use this as their excuse right after 9/11.
To try to float this now would seem very strange...and then you'd have to wonder about the "coincidence" of the 2 events happening on the same day.

Is this the ulimate "ace in the hole" to exponerate the air defense? Very strange that it hasn't been aired out in the open hearings....
