Home Despot does NOT endorse * so stop saying that
Recently, I ordered my sister a gift card from The Home Depot for her birthday. Right afterward, I found out about *'s orgasmic visits to some of their Maryland stores, and that they are huge contributors to his campaign. I was upset. So, I sent them an email. Lo and behold, some lackey responded to me. I've had the flu for a week, still running a fever and feeling lousy. Plus I have PMS (no jokes, OK). So Daniel, of The Home Despot customer service department, got a little something back. My first email was very long, told them they supported fascism, and that I would forevermore shop at a local hardware store. Here is Daniel's insipid reply:

Dear Ms. Red Viking,

Thank you for contacting Home Depot Customer Care. We appreciate your feedback.

On December 5, The Home Depot was honored to welcome President George W. Bush to store 2569 in Halethorpe, Maryland. His appearance does not signify The Home Depot's endorsement of any political party, candidate or initiative. Rather, we are proud the President recognized The Home Depots integral role in strengthening America's economy. In 2003, we will open 200 new stores and create 40,000 new jobs, spurring economic development in communities across the land.

If we can be of further assistance, please email us again or call us at 1-800-553-3199 with reference number 905597.

Sincerely,

Daniel

My email to Daniel:

Daniel,

While I appreciate your reply, I do not believe one word of it. Except for the part about Home Depot feeling honored to welcome the Executive-in-Thief.

If his appearance in your store does not signify endorsement, your generous financial contributions to his campaign certainly do. As the only member of my household who currently has a job, I find it frankly insulting that you would include in your message the tired sop being bleated by the compliant, corporate-owned media about the "economic recovery." Read my lips: OUR ECONOMY IS NOT RECOVERING. Nine million unemployed Americans are proof enough of that.

Please, do not bother replying. Your store is yet another coportate giant engaged in a shameful quid pro quo relationship with our current administration. Nothing you could say would convince me otherwise. I do have the ability to read, do research, and find the truth out for myself. The last place I would look for answers today is from the American media or corporate mouthpieces such as yourself.

Happy Holidays--

Red Viking

:grr:

*whew* I feel better now.

The Home Despot is evil. Don't shop there.

3. Boycott.!
I haven't set foot in a Home Depot since Bush annointed the Maryland store and I informed the people at the local Gap that they won't be seeing me any time soon.

6. 40,000 jobs...Bullsh**
Red Viking...I hope you feel better.

I'm surprised you didn't point out to Daniel that maybe Home Depot created 40,000 new jobs but they probably cost hundreds of thousands of other companies and other employees to loose their jobs. If they hire so many people...where are they when you need them? Someone should call them on it the next time they brag about all the jobs they created.
