They throw Albert Gore Sr. in with Strom Thurmond and other segregationists.

Nothing could be further from the truth.... Al Gore Sr. was a progressive on race issues for a southerner... He refused to sign the infamous Southern Manifesto and voted for most of the civil rights legislation of the 60's except the Fair Housing Act, a vote he came to regret...

One of the reasons he lost his Senate seat in 1970 to Bill Brock was because of his outspokenness on race issues....
