Today marks 48 years in Congress for John Dingell (D-MI)
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 07:10 PM by ih8thegop
Not that I agree with him on every issue, but Rep. John Dingell, Jr., the longest-serving US Representative ever, was sworn in to Congress on December 13, 1955. He replaced his father, who died earlier that year, in a special election.

Dingell, 78, a WWII vet, progressive, Bush critic, and Iraq war opponent, is the Ranking Democrat on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
