Is Kucinich behind the Dean ad????
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 11:58 PM by John_H
First, and most damningly, he hasn't renounced it. That's huge. Second, that guy from Ohio is from Ohio. Kucinich is also from Ohio. Hmmmmmmm. Plus, you gotta believe Kucinich is thinking, "All those voters who think Dean's a progressive are my f'in' voters, baby! That Dean is actually NRA friendly, tax cutting, healthcare cost raising, corporate money groveler. I'm the real progressive!" And talk about something to gain: Kucinich could expand his support by a factor of fifteen if he shoves dean out of the race.

On edit: Of course I'm joking. The fact of the matter is that the argument that X hasn't renounced it or Y used to work for Z, are just flat out wacky.

I agree with reply #2. Who cares who did it?

1. Umm, as a Dean supporter, let me say this:
Dennis Kucinich would be the LAST person I would suspect of being behind that miserable ad. He's behind--he's not a slimeball, like whoever IS behind the ad.

2. Who cares
If Dean as a viable Presidential candidate didn't have the major liability of having no foreign policy, national security or military experience, then this wouldn't even have come up.

It's a wake-up call that Dean is not the man. Get over it.

7. We'll see about that.
That's what primaries are for. If whoever you support can't beat Dean, how in hell will he/she beat *? :hi:

3. Sorry, Kucinich doesn't have the heart or need to use
this kind of underhanded tactic to get his supporters :D :hi: He just speaks the truth, follows his heart, and doesn't quit!

4. Hardly seems his style...
I think it's one of those 'DC insiders'. Whoever claims to be on 'our' side and did this, is a real asshole.

5. Why would Kucinich question Dean on Afghanstan
Kucinich has been critical of our conduct there.

6. I do not believe Kucinich had anything to do with the ad
and If I honestly believed he had any chance at the nomination, that would mean something.

I guess your litmus test isn't consistent.

13. Sure it is
Kucinich stands a worse chance at geting the nomination than a snowball does in hell. He will never get the nomination.

Plus, I suspect Kucinich will denounce the ad.

16. No, it's not Kucinich.
Exhibit A: The guy behind the ad was the Cleveland Dem machine's hand-picked candidate for mayor of Cleveland, but lost the 1977 mayoral primary - to none other than Dennis Kucinich, the outsider.

Exhibit B: Why would Kucinich be attacking Dean's foreign policy from a hawkish perspective? The ad is obviously not the work of Kucinich.

17. I think you are behind it
I haven't heard you denounce that ad. It's just the type of sneaky thing you would do. You're trying to blame Kucinich to throw us all off.

18. NO, no, it's Kleeb behind it
he's Slovekian, well part anyway.
and he's been out of school lately, supposedly too ill to do nothing other than mix up some video in the basement in his demented desire to dunk dean.

got a doctor's note, Kleeb?

dp

okay, in some seriouness, someone point me out to this ad that has everyone's tie in a twist, b/c i haven't seen it, and only get to laugh at my own ignorance and everyone else's speculation.
and  to John H for his latest contribution to the mix, i don't know whether to laugh or lie down.

19. Kucinich and Ed Feighan (the Sludge-meister) are political foes...
...who actually ran against one another.

He wouldn't hire Feighan to do his bidding!

(...or would he?)

20.  Dennis and Carol Mosely Braun are the only two I wouldn't suspect
of being involved in this Attwater-like enterprise. Frankly, I can imagine any or all of the remaining candidates chipping in to finance this ad. What have they to lose, except the nomination, which they are as likely to lose anyway.

21. Ed Feighan Clinton Campaign's Media man
EVEN if one were to force the imagination to believe that Kucinich would stoop this low, Kucinich people would never say that

... Dean, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, doesn't have the military or foreign policy experience needed to take on "those who wake up every morning determined to destroy Western civilization."

Those words are quite... hawkish and DLC-ish.

Neo-cons

Centrists

Progressives

vs
sincere, confused people, who don't have a clue about what's really going on

Welcome to the Soros paid ads. Expect many more. This is my theory.

Who is endoring this ad? Edward F. Feighan

Edward F. Feighan was Bill Clinton's campaign Communications Director who got pretty close to Hillary at the Institute for Policy Studies

It was Edward F. Feighan who introduced the Brady Bill in the House in 1987 as the NRA campaigned heavily against the gun control issue. http://www.saf.org/LawReviews/Aborn1.html

George Stephanopoulos was his Administrative Assistant and later his Chief of Staff.
