Al-Qaeda's finances still ample
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A62515-2003Dec13.html

We need to make the Bush administration's failure to seriously cripple Al-Qaeda a centerpiece of our campaign, instead of wasting an inordinate amount of time debating about who would or would not have voted for a bill in 2002.

1. No comments?
This is not exactly a trivial matter...

2. This is huge.
It is just as important to us as capturing Saddam is to Bush. Perhaps moreso. Despite no attacks on the US since 9/11, there have been 20 something overseas and one here is bound to happen soon. In addition, Al-Qaeda is growing and is in good shape, which is bad for all of us, but good for getting rid of King George.

3. We need to make this a centerpiece of our campaign
Bush is very vulnerable on nation security issues, especially because of his relationship with Saudi Arabia.

5. Yes. Go to the right of him on that and this Taiwan thing he has done.
Move to the left on Iraq, Saddam not withstanding, because it will not be viewed as positively 11 months from now as it is today. Not even close. Move to the right of him on terrorism funding and sound very hawkish regarding Saudi Arabia and make his relationship with the Saudis make him seem weak on terrorism.

6. Correct
We also need to attack him for not dealing with the root causes of terrorism, namely the spread of Islamist extremism (mostly due to Saudi Arabia), and the U.S. failure to settle the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

7. Don't tell that to alot of the more moronic DUers
you know, the LIHOPers and "anti-zionists" who say things like "Al-Qaeda is a fictional terrorist organization".
