If Dean gets the nomination, his story of a governor of a tiny, tiny state defying all conventional political wisdom, going from "*" in the polls to victory will make for some good political drama, which equals good media coverage. Pundits everywhere will have egg on their faces, and Trippi will look like a genius for the good guys.

And if Dean doesn't get the nomination, imagine the firestorm of media hoopla over the candidate who would have managed to stop such a campaign juggernaut. After all of the money that Dean will have raised, and all of the media buzz, and the high polling numbers.. only to be defeated by Candidate X? Candidate X would have to be incredibly strong.

Now, unifying the party is another story..
