3. No.
With Bush's latest snear about international law, I doubt it if Hussien will ever see the light of day again.

I mean they are keeping low level operatives in Gitmo.

They are not going to let this one get away and have a public forum.

4. It's going to be interesting to see how this play out
politically, internationally.

The US has no jurisdiction over what Saddam did. Legally, they have to hand him over.

6. That's an intriguing thought.
I'm sure Bush would like to send Saddam to Syria for information extraction, then have him whacked. But he can't murder such a high-profile figure as Saddam Hussein. On the other hand, if he was really worried about Saddam's secrets, he might decide he has no choice; he might order Saddam Hussein murdered, then deal with the consequences.

16. I really think they are going to claim national security on this.
I understand they are legaly bound to turn him over.

Maybe I am just hard headed, but I think that at the very least it will be a long time before that happens.

Or I could be totaly wrong.

They could very well control the flow of information at the trial. Though that would be a great deal harder.

The US has long ago given up any law stuff like after WW2.I fear what we think of our selfs is not what is true or what the rest of the world knews.Look Bush just made every one think this guy did NYC. You figure it out. I have been lost since Bush came into power.

17. There's going to be a lot of pressure.
Yeah, there are a lot of know-nothings in the US thinking Saddam attacked us, but anybody that knows anything thinks this guy oughta be going straight to the Hague.

But he won't.

He may be handed over to the Iraqi council, but who knows.

19. Bush'll prolly go to them
and try to use them as some kind of justification for keeping hold of him (or killing him).

On the other hand, he might already be dead, and they'll just play coy and act like they still have ahold of him.

15. This guy is a massive political "chip."
Everyone is going to want to get their hands on him. The US is not going to be able to hold on to him without looking really, really bad.

Saddam has a whole lot of questions to answer, and I don't think the world is going to sit back and let us "put him in a pit."
