1. heh one made quite a funny claim.
He said "Saddam is the WMD." because Saddam is so evil, he is a weapon of mass destruction so now we've found them.

2. what are they saying?
I know how I feel, it wasn't worth hundreds of American lives, many thousands of innocent Iraqis and countless billions of $$ to catch this guy. Are folks on C-Span saying same or what? (I have sick childup and letting him watch Toons--otherwise I'd watch C-Span myself)

a guy who was going on and on about what a great victory this is for us and how this victory will help keep him warm when the Social Security checks stop coming.

7. Love It or Leave It
Heard one right wing wacko saying he was an ex-marine and that anybody that critized the white House position in Iraq was a traitor and sould be made to leave the country. Some really sickos out there---failed to pay attention in their high school history classes when they were talking about the Constitution. Well maybe that's why he went into the marines---a dead head that can't think---can only follow!

11. They for get that the German army gave its word to Hitler we
to the constitution. Where are these people? I had one year of this in the eight grade from a very big book. We re-did it in high school and I also did a college class on it.We do not give our life for Bush.

13. Not much worse than assuming that any one pro US
is a right-wing whacko or a Nazi or a KKK member.

There are alot of highly intelligent folks in all branches of the military. Alot of them are liberal as well, but they are in the service to serve the country.

To bash bush isn't bad, but to support terrorists or give them comfort is sort of how treason is defined.

We've gotta get a bit more sophisticated here by understanding that the constitution is the baseline for our society here. If we want to change America, it's really about revolution. And how many of us are ready for that? Blood in the streets, long hot summers? That's what it would take to change this nation and overthrow the constitution.

And folks on the right have the guns :(

14. I honor any person . .
. . who joins the military to protect his or her country.

We are the ones who elected (allowed) GWB and the repukes into office - not the marines.

12. Well I have heard that c-span people are high in knowing what is
going on. The calls can be very scary if this is true. I still think the people who called in and said Bush really won, as look at the red part of the map, take the cake.

6. The craziest one
was the one of the 15 year old ROTC guy who can't wait to go to Iraq with all of his friends. Someone should get it into his head that war isn't some computer game you play when you have free time.

I also appreciated the Iraqui woman from Britain. Although she supported the war, you could tell how much American foreign policy has hurt the world.

9. ROTC Man
When his friends start getting killed, he will change his mind. This country has some people who are very dumb and naive when it comes to war.

15. CSPAN is not a gauge of American opinion
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 09:25 AM by Imajika
"this is not playing out especially well for Bush."

Any fantasy that Saddam Hussein's capture will not play well for Bush is just plain foolish.

CSPAN is only a gauge of those people interested enough to watch CSPAN and then make the effort to call in. CSPAN had fanatical Clinton haters calling in morning after morning for year upon year, but that was not a reflection of the mood of the nation.

Don't deceive yourself, the capture of Saddam will play well for Bush and will likely result in a moderate jump in his poll numbers.

Imajika
