2. I just posted the same
sentiment in another thread. They are still occupied. Nothing that this administration said about our reasons for being there have been justified and the people there are still occupied.

3. Why would anybody need to put a . . .
. . positive spin on his capture?

It is good for the world when bad people are finally stopped.

It seems that bad people are attracted to power - and they will always find their way to get more. They will be supported by sycophants who hope to profit from their association - just as they will be promoted through democratic processes by citizens who follow their own worst instincts.

In all cases, enemies of the people should be removed, tried and publicly humiliated.

I'm against the death penalty for practical reasons. I like the idea of the state being smart enough to prevent murder and killing without having to do it themselves. I think that sends a pretty good message.

I think a public cell where Iraqi's and tourists could drop by to see uncle Saddam behind one-way soundproof glass, to see what happens to bad people who hurt their citizens, would be fitting. As the months and years went by until he finally died, in his bare cell, unable to ever communicate to another human being, it would send a very strong message to would-be dictators throughout the world.

But they'll probably kill him. In Iraq, that's no big deal. So a lot of the message will be lost. But I won't be shedding any tears.
