Lieberman's first words at Saddam's capture "Hallelujah...praise the Lord

"This man supported terrorists"...

This is being thrown out left and right. When did this happen?

2. do jews use Hallelujah? I've never heard a jewish person say that before
sounded kind of odd, maybe they do what do I know. But Lieberman is not on the left, he's right of center.

10. he's probably trying to 'pass' now, but:
seriously, if he said that, it's probably from the common vernacular of the US

22. is that same vernacular which says "oy vey"?
I don't think so.

'Execute him' - how fascist sounding can one be?

I know this isn't about Barbara ... but ...

personally, I don't care to lump Boxer with the likes of Wellstone ... ever see her financial statements (opensecrets.org) and stock holdings? Halliburton, HCA (the Frist family HMO business),
Wal-Mart, GE, El Paso Energy (weren't they 'in' on the Bush-Lay-Enron raping of California?), Boeing, Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck, Home Depot, Diamond Offshore Drilling, MBNA, Mellon (as in Mellon Scaife) Financial Corp., Pfizer, etc. Sort of blurs which side of the fence she's really on. Interesting that she has recently buried them in blind trusts.

Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 11:41 AM by cosmicdot
I know exactly your vernacular reference ... Joe using hallelujah is somehow unique to a Pat Robertson saying oy vey? Does Pat Robertson say oy vey? I don't think so ... it's the same thing ... that's my point ... hearing hallelujah from Joe would be the same thing as hearing oy vey from a fundamentalist non-Jew re this event ...

joe is mixing religion and politics in a shameful way

25. Yes they do...
The gates of Jerusalem will sing hymns of joy, and all houses will cry

'Hallelujah! Blessed be the G*d of Israel!'"

And why not praise the almighty for his capture?

Excuse me, mr. leiberman, but you weren't the one who crawled down into a hole in the ground, not knowing whether you'd be facing a gun or a grenade... Get off your high horse.

No matter what anyone thinks of any of this, I can't even imagine the fear that those soldiers must feel every time they turn a corner or head down a tunnel.

4. No worries
Don't buy any polls

Lieberman didn't have a chance from the beginning; even those who claim to like him wouldn't actually vote for him as Pres and no dem is going to pick him as VP

No worries

Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 09:58 AM by eye22004
outside of Baghdad. I think Saddam was in control of that area.

I think there was a terrorist camp in the northeastern area of Iraq that you are thinking about, it was in the no-fly zone Kurdish area. But Salmaan Pak wasn't there.

Every time Lieberman goes for the religon card I am embarrassed to be a fellow Jew. Did he ever hear of the seperation of church and state. Maybe we should reword it for him so he can remember... the seperation of synagogue and state. Shees.

28. And this is how the Bush Criminal Empire treats their "friends".....
...at least when they are no longer useful to them. Manuel Noriega would be another example, as would Osama Bin Laden.

Not that all three of them aren't complete and total bastards, but then that begs the question - why was Team Bush friends with the bastards in the first place?

21. Joe Lieberman should shut the F up now.
I supported him when he was VP candidate, and I had no problem with him running for president, but he is so unlikeable and such a thorn in the Democrat's crotch that he should go home and shut up. He is on the news this morning, taking cheap shots at Howard Dean.
"If Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power," etc.
Is he working for Bush now? Hell, at least I hope he is. Otherwise he is just supporting our Commander in Thief for free. What a jerk he has turned out to be. Lieberman, go home!!!!!
