Saddam , Court and Bush Sr.
I never expected a living Saddam

Now we have him, and unless he dies before the Iraqi court puts him on trial then he will be allowed to speak

What does this guy know that could be damaging to the Bush crime family ?

How many backdoor deals has he done with them

If he is brought up on charges for actions during the Iraq/Iran war then that will shine a light back on Iran/Contra and Iraqgate

How does this Saddam capture play out ?

Any thoughts ?

3. You're right
Clark has called for a "very public" trial.

5. We Will Never Hear A Word
from Saddam. Pentagon propaganda, secret trial - and of course Bush will kill him to insure his mouth never utters a word about Poppy & Co.

7. Expect carefully controlled court trial in Iraq
Trial will not be held in the International Criminal Court, ostensibly for the reason that they do not permit the death penalty.

Instead, it will be held in Iraq. Charges will be for domestic crimes only: looting, killing, gassing, etc. Don't look for much in the way of other crimes against humanity where he would be expected to provide his own defense. That would open up a stinking kettle of fish that the US wants to keep sealed.

8. Someone didn't get the memo
No way was Saddam to be caught alive.

No way were they to prove it was him by means of DNA testing.

No way was he supposed to be shown still breathing on world TV.

This could prove an unmitigated disaster for every US adminsitration since Reagan (yes, including Bill Clinton's) and as for the French? The Russians? The Germans?

Saddam could bring all the old allies together.

Everyone wants him dead ASAP.

One commentator said that sources hope Saddam can point the US to the WMD's. What if there are no WMD's and there never were any?

A living Saddam is a dagger at the heart of the Bush Adminsitration.

He won't last a week.

9. Saddam won't get a public trial.
This administration's penchant for secrecy will make sure this is pulled under the cloak.
