don't you think that trial could be awfully embarrassing to U.S. authorities?
Since the U.S. propped him up, armed him, looked the other way during his use of WMD& attacked the Kurds with gas....isn't there a lot the U.S. would rather not have brought up in public? How much more is there that we never even heard of?

my prediction for Saddam Hussein: suicide in his cell. convenient, clean, I'll bet he'll even sign a confession before he checks himself out.

and I strongly believe that this is a "two parter".
Next, he will be leading them to the "WMDs".

Saddam will "confess" to having WMD, and they'll spare his life and let him live in exile somewhere in Syria while being heavily monitored.

3. well, we'll see. but i don't think so.
....
bush sees himself as some kind of liberating crusader....he wants Saddam dead, and he wants, in effect, to be able to display Saddam's head on a pike pole.

recall how much he immersed himself in the death penalty in texas....if he could mock Karla faye Tucker's pleas for clemency, imaging the laughing fit he'll have over the idea of letting Saddam live.
