Was I the only one who noticed...?
Several things wrong with the two pictures of Hussein shown side by side?

Now, I don't mean to sound as if I'm looking for conspiracies around every corner, but I did notice a few things.

The derelict on the left was grey headed and grey bearded, with grey running through his moustache. His face looked gaunt, and there were deep lines runnig throughout his face and forehead.

The picture of Saddam on the right of the screen showed, what looked to me as a man with a fuller face, no lines, and after he was shaved and his hair combed, it looked as though he had no grey at all running through his hair or moustache.

Am I nuts, or have any of you noticed?

A nip here, a tuck there, a glue on mustache... and wallah! Mere coinky-dinky? I think not.

2. well
He probably washed and shave, which would get rid of dirt on his face that would accent the facial lines.

14. HE may have got a bit of a haircut
Grey hair may have been further away from his face, when you cut it, it kinda goes away...my Dad is like that. Plus you said that it was in the two pics that were taken at the same spot...why wouldn't they just use the same imposter? if this was an imposter. WHy would they switch up imposters?

5. Living underground, figuratively or literally,
and under the slightly stressful conditions of having a few hundred thousand people hunting for you may tend to age you a little.

They have relatives available for DNA samples, you know.

8. Maybe he ran out of Griecan formula?
Still, I will not believe that Saddam is captured until there is documented proof. I'll play along, but I'm not buying it even though it makes no difference to the outcome of this war, or the phony 'justifications; for it in the first place. It's a matter of not wanting to be reeled in yet again, only to find out later it was just another Bush administration lie.

10. Remember Twin Peaks? A shocking event can turn your hair gray overnight.
Also, living in a spider hole can make one gaunt.

Maybe the guy they captured was made entirely of turkey meat!

That's why they showed Bush with a fake turkey on Thanksgiving! THey were building a fake Saddam with the real turkeys!

18. A wash, shave with clippers
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 03:04 PM by HeLovedBigBrother
Combing of the eyebrows, which I assume he did as part of his grooming while still leader. Some peroxide to dissolve the blood on the scab, a bit of creamy Neosporin to cover said wound...as a woman it isn't hard to imagine what could be done to vastly improve his appearance, especially after days of not bathing.

19. My question was this.....
I'm not saying one way or the other, but after having a beard and being undground for however many months after JUST shaving wouldn't the previously covered bearded area be lighter than the rest of his face, neck, etc.?

The lighting wasn't great in the AFTER picture... VERY dark, but I could not see any difference in coloration on his face after the shave.

20. Perhaps he stayed out of the sun
Last winter, my ex grew a beard for three months. I made him shave it off. The skin underneath was the same color. There is no sun in a bunker, or Seattle in winter. Also, it appears they used clippers and not a blade to shave him, leaving some prickly hair that might obstruct any color-change.

I think it's him.

23. If he wasn't in the sun, his whole complexion may have been a
monochrome.

As far as the lines in his face disappearing, I've known people who have a really rubbery, scrunched-up look in the morning. As the day goes by, their skin relaxes a bit. Could be the same here with SH.

doesn't matter to me one way or the other whether it is or isn't. Just curious! I think we SHOULD question whether it truly is him or not...call it :tinfoilhat: call it unpatriotic...whatever...again n/m to me.

I just want the truth and I'm willing to THINK and be CRITICAL till it is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt!

Thanks all!

24. They sent him to a spa
For all the service he has provided to the Bush family, they gave him the royal treatment. It's amazing what a good massage, shower and shave will do for an old dictator.

Here's what Sad-am said as they lifted him out of the bunker: "Yeesh, I was thinking you guys were gonna keep me down there till next October. Get me a brewsky!"

25. I only wondered why Saddam looked so healthy and why he did so little
to really change his appearance? I mean, come on...If I had 8 months to help my cause I would have had a good makeup artist to change my appearance, killed everyone who had been close to me after Uday and Qusay were captured, taken that money and bought my way into Syria.

29. No...but I did notice that in one photo, his eyes were closed....
And if that photo was shown on an English-speaking channel only and Iraqis or other Arabs were watching, they might assume he was dead. They might think he was killed.

35. If is isn't him, and is a 'double'......................
then why yank him out now? Why not wait until a 'capture' of this sort would have more political capital?

Aside from the usual slide of confidence in Bush, nothing is really happening at the moment that would necesitate a diversion of attention sort of thing........a good time for that would have been a few months ago when BushCo was seemingly in hot water over outing the CIA agent.

I tend not to trust anything anymore, but to me it just seems that a grand stunt like this (if not really true), would come at a more opportune time, especially in light of the fact that this bunch doesn't do ANYTHING until and unless it gets maximum political play.
