A modest proposal: turn over Saddam to Tehran for trial
A. Immediately places a moral debt to us upon an AOE member.
B. Shows the younger generation in Iran we mean to do well by them.
C. Simultaneously threatens the existing regime there, but it's an offer they can hardly refuse.
D. The Iranians are thirsty for his blood.
E. Might piss off some Iraqis, but it could serve to shore up the rather porous eastern border against arms smuggling.
F. If he's executed and possibly seen as a martyr, though I doubt he would be, it'd be the Iranians, for the most part, held responsible.
G. Would actually address a series of real crimes.

Just thinking out loud.

1. Nah....
turn him over to the Arab council and have them try him before ALL
of the Arabs.
I'm really curious to hear the juicy tidbits that he has about
Bush anc Co.

2. Yes, but his crimes against Persians are even greater than against Arabs

3. I'm not sure the government in Iraq is ready,
but I'd like it if they could try him. If we really let them run the trial it would show them than we are serious about giving them more control, and I have no doubt he'd get what he deserves.
