Don't have the time to fully develop this thought onto 'screen' right now, but for months and months we've pretty much heard Usama and Saddam in the same sentence. Bush's administration has certainly not done much if anything to discourage this coming off as a dual-pronged attack. I mean, if Saddam and Usama are connected, and since Usama and 9/11 are already connected, then logically Saddam and 9/11 are connected. Never explicitly stated like that, but when they are connected so often then the brain naturally will make this connection.
So if I were to even express joy, pleasure at today's news, and follow it up with an eager "so what about Usama?" wouldn't I immediately be labeled a hater? "Geez, can't you just let us celebrate for (insert length of time here)?"
I for one am very glad for the news. It doesn't mean I support our motives in going to Iraq, and no Darryl Worley I haven't forgotten 9/11. It is the very fact that I remember these events that I am able to separate the two. But I also know that I will not be mentioning the "U-word" first.
Just some thoughts ...
