Was the Iraq war and Saddam's capture worth this?
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 05:07 PM by killbotfactory
Hundreds of our soldiers dead and counting...
Thousands of our soldiers injured and counting...
Thousands of innocent Iraqi's killed and counting...
Tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi's injured...
Getting us into a neverending guerilla war for years to come...
$200 billion dollars and counting...
Pulling away resources to stabalize and rebuild Afghanistan, which actually contained a threat to the US...
Pulling away resources from fighting real threats to the US...
Flushing international goodwill down the toilet...
The morality of rushing headlong into war, against a country which was not a threat to us, and without adequate planning for what to do after the major fighting stops...
The lies and disinformation our gov't had to tell to get the majority of people to support the war...

In my opinion: NO

This was a war we didn't have to fight, to protect us from threats that didn't exist. Saddams capture doesn't change any of this.

2. Was the whole idea of starting a pre-emptive war worth this?
No. It opens up Pandora's Box.

3. No, it was a war of choice. Not necessity.
