Post your Saddam capture inconsistencies here
There are a number of coincidences and inconsistencies with the capture of Hussein today. Post what you've come across here.

-----

The Saturday after Thanksgiving a friend of mine in the Marines said he was going to Iraq the beginning of December on a "Saddam hunting" mission.

On December 2, US Rep Ray LaHood held his thumb and forefinger slightly apart and said, "We're this close" to catching Saddam Hussein.

Why, and they just set up tribunals to try former Ba'athists....

Why would he be THERE?

They caught him with a bunch of kurd soldiers..

Kurd soldiers?

Saddam was willing to surrender without a war remember?

Didn't this administration once say...That the failure to capture Saddam was really no big deal, because capturing him wasn't that important?

2. Wow...nice recap...
but like I have stated...there is always a "reason" for it to happen.
I think from this "capture", we're going to get the "WMDs" in
Syria bs...and then by summer, we'll be invading Syria.

Its so friggin blatant....

4. Sounds about right
I know someone from another site who posted this same thing a few months ago. Also, people forget we're in a declared state of emergency after 9/11 which bush* kept in place for another year. IMO if this situation takes place with Syria we will be more vulnerable to terrorists attacks. It's already been said if there's another major attack on the US or one of it's allies Martial Law will be declared and that means no election next year.

5. Exactly
This is all part of something larger (to me). The question is...what? And what other pieces are out there that might help us?

6. I tried once but my post was locked.
I'll try again:

First they said he was "very talkitive" and cooperative. (To me this indicated the possible use of "truth serum.")
Now they are saying that he refuses to talk and is not cooperating.

My thinking is that the US has known where Saddam was for months and had captured him at least a couple of weeks ago...when rumors surfaced that he had been captured but quickly squashed. In capture he was heavily sedated (drugged) and kept until such a time that it would serve the administration's purpose...maybe close to the 2004 election.

Enter the recent scandal about Halliburton overcharging for gasoline, the scuttle about EU not being able to bid for contracts, Halliburton no-bid contracts, etc. These stories were snowballing into a mountain. The latest revelations about the over charging were HUGE and going to get bigger. And Dean was gaining attention with his anti-Bush anti-Iraq-war message. The neocons..lead by Cheney..had to come up with a major event to wipe all of these from the malleable minds of the American people. Only one of two events could do this: capture Osama or capture Saddam. The neocons lose nothing by doing this now instead of closer to the election. Wiping these mounting negative events from the news will virtually ensure another 4 years of the Bush cabal.

Saddam offered no resistance because he was a zombie. The US knew that if he was humiliated instead of martyred this would give them the leverage they needed to quell the Iraqi resistance. A masterful move.

I did a search on "truth serum" and found this:
"But do truth serums actually work? Sodium pentothal, the most commonly known speech-inducing compound, is a mild sedative that makes people more talkative, but not necessarily more honest. Even more problematic, from a human rights standpoint, is a long history of practice that blurs the moral lines between the use of interrogation drugs and more overt methods of torture."http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=truth+serum&page=1&offset=0&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26amp%3BrequestId%3D10889437be1d3e26%26amp%3BclickedItemRank%3D6%26amp%3BuserQuery%3Dtruth%2Bserum%26amp%3BclickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.alternet.org%252Fstory.html%253FStoryID%253D13341%26amp%3BinvocationType%3D-%26amp%3BfromPage%3DNSCPIndex&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alternet.org%2Fstory.html%253FStoryID%253D13341

I think we can all just sit back and wait for all the “evidence” that will link Saddam to 9/11. Afterall, who is going to doubt our intelligence now? this is going to be the major thrust of the administrations PR now...proving that we won the war on terror because we have captured the real mastermind behind 9/11.

7. A question, not an inconsistency - the news re Saddam's capture
came first from Iran? not the US?

is this true? and if so, how did that happen?

10. The before and after pics....his moustach was pointed...did hollywood
trim his beard??? seems to me if you cut a beard the moustach will be blunted and not pointed as if you grew the moustache seperate from the beard...and if the military cut off the beard...why were they so careful to make sure the mustache was still pointed....like before he was captured???

12. I've been away from TV and missed all the fun
But when I first heard the news this morning, I thought back to Bush's press comments on Friday. He was so DAMN arrogant with that remark about "international law" .... so cocky. Is it possible he knew then that SH was in the bag?

I'm trying to catch up.

14. Well, General Tommy Franks got to Afghanistan and immediately said
It wasn't their mission to catch Osama.
They weren't even looking for him.
Haven't been and aren't.

As quoted in "Dreaming War" - Gore Vidal, 2002

16. He is not pale
If he was living in a hole fopr the last 6+ months he would be pale as a sheet. He must of come back from a "secured undisclosed location" that is very sunny.
