Gen Clark's legacy in this capture...
.
A savvy blogger wrote earlier that the General once commanded the 4th ID, which captured Saddam.
I cross-checked the CNN report and the General's resume. CNN says the 3rd Brigade (belonging to the 4th ID, it seems) out of Colorado was involved in the capture.
The General commanded the 3rd Brigade!
As you shop about town, you may say (loudly) that while Bush and/or D had one approach to military service, General Clark's own hands are evident in Operation Red Dawn.
Correct me if I'm wrong - many bloggers know our military inside & out.  I don't, and could be erring here...

3. I heard it was the First Brigade, 4th Infantry Division
Either way, it was pretty cool.

And, certainly, Clark knows the higher-echelon officers involved in the operation -- the Army is a pretty small place for those who spend careers in it.

7. He just said it again on CSPAN
He thanked the armed forces and thanked a few by name. One of his first statements this morning named the Colonels, I think, and a few others. I have no knowledge who he actually thanked and why.

Sorry, I don't have a link. I'll try to look for one.
