6. Question: Wall street is worried about the deficit....
"Josh Bolton has laid out a plan that will shrink the deficit in over a five-year period. It's a plan that depends on Congress that depends on Congress holding the line on spending.

We have a deficit because of (1) recession (2) war."

8. how can anyone take this idiot seriously
he mumbles, he stumbles and is almost incoherant. And then goes into repeat mode and says exactly the same thing to just about all the questions. Sure the grabs will look good on Fox but how could anyone watching the whole conference have any faith in this dope.

In Australia we call these sorts of questions that were asked of him Dorothy Dixers - friendly questions asked by willing accomplices. Any of your candidates next year should be able to rip through him in the debates based on that performance.

9. Question: It's been 9 mos. no evidence of WMD
(sniff by Bush)

In retrospect was the reason for war democratization rather than WMD...?

(Bush appears to be afraid until the reporter gave him the answer, duh, to the question.)

My loose transcript of his answer:

Anytime presidents deal with a threat to the US we can't pick or choose....after 9/11...I began to assess threats and the thread of Saddam was unique in the sense that the world recognized he was a threat for twelve years for 17 resolutions. He ignored them. He treated the UN as an empty debating society. This is aperosn who has used chemical weapons before which indicated to me he was a threat. He invaded his neighbors before...He was defiant, he was a deceiver and he murdered in his own country...so I went to the UN and asked them to disarm him and 1441 came about...they agreed Saddam was a threat so we moved to disarm him....

Since them David Kay reported he had "weapons programs" which means had David Kay been the lead inspector and he done the work prior to the invasion he woul dhave reported that Saddam was in breach (due to the weapons programs).

Using military power is a last choice not a first choice. In iraq there was lots of diplomacy...we tried all means to achieve the objective of a more secure America...

(DID HE ANSWER THE QUESTION YET?????)

10. Ohmygod it's just one whopper after another.
Dodged the WMD question.
Military last resort.
Tried every diplomatic solution w Iraq...

I think this "press conference" will last longer than my
viewing of it.

11. Question regarding contracts only to war supporters
There are over 60 nations involved in Iraq. There is international support...

Again I think you are talking about one or two countries and we are reaching out to them and we want them to participate but he idea of spending taxypayer money on people who did not support us is not something I was going to do...

13. I give up. A media prostitute just asked if Deans questions about 911...
Were akin to hate speech.
Now they're feeding propaganda to the Chimp, and he
grunts in agreement.

14. Question: Will there be more violence in Iraq?
The Defense Dept. will try to learn more from Saddam Hussein as time goes on. I believe there will be more violence because I believe there are holdovers who don't want a free Iraq...

17. Is he an idiot or is he an idiot? How many times has he said the
word "delegating"? OK. So he delegates. Obviously a power-tripper.
