NPR this morning...
... described Breaux as a "centrist" who, as example, fought for the recent Medicare bill.

Are these people at NPR just plain stupid, or are they part of the machine? (I think I know that answer already.)

Breaux is nearly as big an embarrassment as Zell Miller, and yet, the spin is that he's a real Democrat. WTF?

Comments?

1. He was described as a centrist
on MSNBC this morning as well. Much of the time I think that this kind of crap is more reflective of the laziness of the press corps, who would prefer revising a press release to writing an orignal story.

2. You talkin' about NPWhore?
I frequently can listen to as much as 10 minutes without beginning to froth about the mouth.

I go with the KoolKid theory. They don't want all the Heathers making fun of them.

But I'd be fine with lazy. Or stupid. Or bought. Or just downright dishonest.

3. In Breaux's defense............
I think he was one of the few who represented his constituency. Louisiana is NOT that liberal, although Democratic leaning. Breaux voted mostly (key word, mostly) with his constituents wishes and feelings, not on solid party lines. That he wasn't a classic liberal Democrat does not detract from his being in the Democratic Party.
Mr. Breaux was not the "perfect Democrat", but few are. In a state such as Louisiana a fine balancing act must be maintained to keep the people happy, remember, this IS the deep south.
Breaux served the people of Louisiana well, if not the Democratic party. In that sense, he did what he was elected to do.

4. NPR is a CIA front.
Their shift to the right has become so obvious since 9/11. But what can you expect from a organization run by former spooks who managed VOA in Europe?

5. Part of the Machine...National PUTSCH Radio
It took 2 fire companies with 15 hose lines to get Cokie Roberts to stop cumming long enough to get on air and read her propaganda piece. sources say Roberts had close to 100 orgasms between the time she started rehearsing her script and settling down long enough to read it...<sarcasm>

6. Breaux did more than "fight" for the Medicare Bill....
He was a co-author and sponsor of the darn thing.

He's retiring? Hmmmm.....I'm gonna guess he's gotten a windfall of $$$ lately for helping to author that windfall for the pharmaceutical and insurance companies.
