December 16, 2003 -- MEE-OWCH! Could a catfight be brewing between "Saturday Night Live" newscaster Tina Fey and right-wing pundit Ann Coulter?

While presenting Al Franken with his comedy trophy at yesterday's New York Magazine Awards, Fey lauded the liberal author of "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right" for skewering the likes of Coulter and Bill O'Reilly, adding: "Have you ever seen Ann Coulter in person? It's like seeing a rat. It's like, ewwww!"

Franken, who predictably poked fun at O'Reilly and Fox News Channel chief Roger Ailes, opined that O'Reilly wouldn't go on any U.S.O. tours of the Middle East, because "he has no talent," and gloated about Fox News' dropping its trademark infringement suit against his book.

That ice-bitch Coulter scares me! I dunno Stuart can handle her...he's just an SNL alum after all. Can we get someone with better credentials. I heard that she shot down most of his contentions with her book from Goebbels press.

He normally gets folks who are uneducated and rips them a new one.
For big name people, he goes easy usually so they won't walk off. Actually, Coulter ripped O'Reilly a new one...on and off camera.

I just don't think someone with Franken's temper is going to be able to deal with frosty.

I forget the show, but she spouted some utter lies and Rock said "you just make shit up, don't you" and "are you blowing Bush, or what?".

But calling her a bitch and Bush's ho is one thing. Alot of the rappers who show up on O'Reilly sound real great until they have to debate...then they show that they have no facts or even eloquence.

Rock is intelligent and all...but I don't put much credence in most of the folks in Hollywood. They don't do much research on their own. If that's the case, I'd take Franken.

And please don't talk about musicians :(

I haven't heard anything about Franken's book being shot down? I know Coulter had to re-issue her book because of the egregious errors in the facts she presented (a la the NY Times article about Dale Ernhardt that Franken shot down...)

...all of which was meticulously footnoted and fact-checked by TeamFranken. Why would another book of BS by Coulter be considered any more credible?

Let's cut through the baloney: Ann Coulter is revered as a goddess on this site for 2 reasons: (1) she's conservative and speaks up, and (2) apparently most Freepers are smitten with her looks. You think this thread would get any traffic if it were about SNL attacking some ugly double bagger of a woman, no matter what kind of a "pit bull" she was versus the Left? I don't.

From what I've read of Ann, she's a decent pundit, but absent #2, above, she'd be an also-ran. Ergo, this thread is all about defending "a 'hot' chick because she thinks like us." This cult of personality garbage is something I find distasteful in the Left and it's just as distasteful in the Right. Sorry to throw the cold water, but man, Tom Petty with boobs and a vagina? Pass the bag.

As far as my homepage is concerned, it's just a bunch of Hemingway pictures and quotes. I write for a living and Hemingway is my favorite writer. WRITER. I know he was a major-league asshole away from the typewriter.

She always looks like she just snorted an 8 ball of coke. She twitches and trembles and always looks like she's about to rip the liver out of her interviewer or opponent. Tom, on the other hand, looks like he just did a bong hit...

Good thing for her. Still, I hardly ever see her in a situation where the expected audience would dare to disagree with her, so she mostly avoids the unfriendly crowds, wouldn't you say?
