Will Wes Clark form a "Department Of Time Travel?

...but I beleive mankind can achieve FTL as well. Of course, that statement says NOTHING about time travel. Of course Drudge and his fellow right wing hacks take a film they saw in grade school and 'extrapolate' Clarks meaning. Yeah, maybe he can go back in time and keep Bush from stealing Florida...

On September 30, I published an article at Wired News entitled Clark Campaigns at Light Speed.

The article reported on remarks made by Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark during a campaign event Sept. 27 in New Castle, New Hampshire. At the event, Clark stated his belief that humans will someday be able to travel faster than the speed of light.

Due to a faulty understanding of physics on my part, I originally reported that Clark had professed a belief in the possibility of time travel. While some experts have previously said that travelling faster than light implies time travel, Clark in fact did not specifically profess an interest in time travel.

After several readers e-mailed me about this aspect of my article, later on Sept. 30 I revised the online version of the story to avoid suggesting Clark had advocated research into time travel. (The quotes attributed to him, of course, remained unchanged.)

Let the pukes try to bash Clark on this, the fact of the matter is Clark never claimed it, it was a writer's bad understanding of physics.

Just remember at first they were ignoring Clark. Now, they aren't. That is a good thing.

For people to take their time to mess with you they must be concerned for some reason. I take it that the race is still in swing and that Wes must be gaining some speed.

I read an intresting article some years back in a reputable science magazine. I take Scientific American and Discover so it was probably one of those but I'm not sure.

It is definately true that you can't travel faster than light in you local time-space reference, if the local reference is itself moving, then you can go faster than light. The article talked about creating a wrinkle (Warp?)that would be fast moving, (Warp speed?) in the continuim and riding in that wrinkle. Sort of like surfing the cosmos.

Wish I could remember where I read it. So Clark isn't that far out of it.

Even if he is off base on that one, it at least shows that he has a mind that will look at new ideas, that is able to think outside the paradigm, and that in and of itself is a good thing.

e=mc squared simply translates into:

economy=master card squared. Borrow and spend, they understand.

But I stated my reasons specifically in terms of his military past, he's talked about his neo-conservative friends in DoD, it is contamination by their influence in DC and military think tanks that leads to pork and war IMO.
It would be a nice thing to see a Dean/Clark ticket. Dean will beat Bush next year regardless of running mate. Me, I'm smelling the coffee yet voting for Dennis Kucinich in the February 17th, 2004 Wisconsin Primary.

Howard Dean has always been my second choice. I beware of neo-con moles around Clark. Militarism is a huge component of fascism IMHO.
I don't hate Clark by any means and would even like to see him as VP on Dean ticket, but then again I don't belong to any political party myself but I do hate fascists in Republican Party.

I think Clark said that a couple of weeks after his campaign started, and Fox was the only station to pick up on it - for a while, they'd show that quote every time they mentioned Clark, even on completely unrelated topics. I guess it didn't stick.

Every time we look at a star we're looking into the past. The Hubble telescope looks into the past more than most.

Government and industry and ordinary people invest a lot in "time travel" ... planning, scheduling, projecting, betting, predicting, investing, and insuring just to mention a few investments. Then there's archeology, history, storage, journaling, photographs, documentaries, and all kinds of investments in the past. $Billions and $billions.
