TRENTON, N.J. - Gov. James E. McGreevey plans to endorse Howard Dean for president and has asked state Democrats to begin campaigning for the former Vermont governor, state Democratic sources told The Associated Press Tuesday.

The sources said McGreevey will make a public announcement on Friday.

McGreevey had planned to meet with Wesley Clark this week, but that meeting was canceled.

McGreevey has met with Dean, Sen. Joe Lieberman and Sen. John Kerry, of Massachusetts, Rasmussen said.

4. Because they secretly

hate him and love John Kerry, but Dean's operatives have their families at gunpoint - so they have no choice. Otherwise they wouldn't throw their support behind the most unelectable and most pathetic candidate of all time.

Just like all of the Massachusetts congressfolks who are campaigning for Dean.

Does that sound about right?

3. Well, this should help him lose NJ....
McGreevey is not well liked here. Although to be fair it didn't really hurt the dem party in the mid-terms where we took control of most other offices. But people argued that McGreevey not coming out or campaigning helped that happen.

It's unfair because he gets the blame for a lot of Whitman's messes. Although he has made some pretty stupid mistakes on his own.

7. Yes... it's a cycle....
Just like Florio inherited a mess and cleaned it....

people love a tax cutting person who savages the budget and runs deficits,

they seem to hate the person who has to clean up after it....

BUT,

McGreevey is his own worst enemy and makes SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn many political blunders.

6. Good move
Now if only Dean can get everyone in his camp to remind Americans that we are no safer with Saddam in custody the public outcry to bring the troops home now will grow in leaps and bounds.

8. doesn't matter if McGreevey is popular or not
a endorsment by a governor is still helpful in ultimately getting the state machinery behind a candidate. Despite McGreevey it should be remembered that NJ democrats did very well in the November elections. He is also a super-delegate.
