Saddam and the Flu
Hmm...what ever happened to the flu crisis? Before the capture,
instead of hearing about Halliburton, all we heard about what the
killer flu. Wall to wall coverage on the lack of vacine, how deadly
this strain was, showing long lines to receive shots, how many
children had died, etc. Now, bearly a peep, just Saddam. The 24/7
media is amazing.

2. reminds me of NPR, Sunday
I turned on Weekend edition to listen to news (not knowing what had happened) and they spent the whole time talking about Hussein's capture, instead of just the five minutes that would have given the story. Then after about 45 minutes of this, they said it was time for an update on other news around the world. Guess they had to cover the other news even if it wasn't significant. They did this for 5 minutes and then went back to redundancy about Saddam's capture. The thing was, the other news was another car bomb in Iraq, the attempted assassination of Mubarek, and a couple of other similar items that certainly deserved more than 5 minutes.
I also had been thinking from a historical perspective how strange it was that so much attentionis devoted to this one piece of the puzzle and in a place that is on the other side of the planet.
It's like giving all the attention to Hitler in the bunker instead of to the surrender of Germany....

That's entertainment.

& that's my mini-rant for the day.
